I know, it's so sad. :(

"Soul Train" creator Don Cornelius (http://projects.latimes.com/hollywood/star-walk/don-cornelius/) was found dead at his Sherman Oaks on home Wednesday morning.
Law enforcement sources said police arrived at Cornelius' home around 4 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing.
The sources said there was no sign of foul play, but the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating.
In a 2010 interview (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2010/09/a-talk-with-don-cornelius-about-the-best-of-soul-train.html)with The Times, he said he was excited about a movie project he was developing about "Soul Train."

At 75, who knows what sort of health problems he had. Maybe he just wanted to go quick.

What a tragic heartbreaking loss. It's got to be one of the ultimate understatements but Don Cornelius did give so much to so many. Unforgettable & unparalleled warmth & graciousness with 1 of the most beautifully distinctive speaking voices ever. The man was truly beautiful himself from the inside out & my prayers are with everyone he touched. May you rest in peace Don Cornelius.

I was just watching the Beasties 1990 performance on Soul Train earlier this week and the 'do the Don Cornelius" part was stuck in my head today at work. Now just learned of Don's passing today.

Crazy how stuff happens!
