Good stuff, man. Being able to enjoy it like an adult (i.e. in moderation) is the best. (y)

I stopped smoking cheeba and that was part of the key...
I'm on day 22 after 20 years of habitual use and three arrests. I never went three weeks by choice in that in entire time.
Clean and clear, and my dreams are fucking vivid and intense.
Life is really good right now.
Congrats, Padster.

i havent smoked in over a year. i like being high but have had to keep my hair clean if you know what i mean. someday ill partake again.
i much enjoy smoking, eating good, watching some cool shit on the tube and just chilling. getting a blowy is pretty dope too. much prefer all that to being drunk.

I don't have anything particularly against weed, it was just the whole 'stoner' lifestyle/attitude that annoyed me. People who do just seemed to love letting others now how cool they are because they smoke, and I think coupling that with age at which they star it just pissed me off. Loads of 17 year olds thinking their the absolute boss because they smoke weed every day.
Aside from my rant, good to hear, Pat.

That's great news. Good for you. Stick with the beer!
I tried it in highschool but it always made me sick. I have other reasons for not liking it but one of my close friends still does it. She's been there for me since we were kids so I don't judge. Although what I tried in Amsterdam was interesting. I'd never do it again unless I was back in Amsterdam. I guess because I was at a bar and it was just the normal thing to do. But it didn't make me sick either.

I still smoke a bit but i did leave it alone for about 2 years and it felt good but i was then able to just have a bit now and again, before that it totally was my life, virtually everything i did was motivated by having a smoke at the expense of a lot of other stuff and people. i dont drink beer and i have it now and again but i dont miss the habitual period..at all.

and see nothing wrong with it, but its different for everyone right?
Some people cant smoke and still be serious i've never had that problem.
Mind that by smoking everyday I dont mean get stonerfied rippltized, im talkin one hit does the job for me.
What im saying can start a serious controversy no matter what I type hahaha. Especially coming from a teenager, but i'd like to say that for a 19 year old i'm decently mature. :P

I figured someone would say this, but I had friends in college that claimed they were having a hard time quitting. It might not be the same type of addiction as nicotine, but I suppose it's difficult for people who love the feeling. Or people who say they need it to relax. It's like when people get in the routine of doing something, it's hard to change.

I find I can't enjoy it any more. I mean I don't get much opportunity any more anyway, but the past few times when I have had occasion, I just didn't like it at all. I can't really explain why; it made me feel, like, sort of congested and edgy. You when you have a cold and your head is stuffed up, so you take one of those non-drowsy decongestants that has that speedy shit in it that tweakers make meth out of? Kind of like that. Not relaxing. It's a bummer because I did used like it now and again, but I've basically given up on it.
Kind of like oysters. I used to really love raw oysters, but then I had about 5 'bad oyster' experiences in a row puking my guts up. So now I just don't have them, because I can't enjoy them because I'm anticipating getting sick.

Six years for me. Quit for good about a month ago. Deleted my dealers number from my phone (for like the 5th time). Threw away my paraphanalia, moved from my old apartment......
Its not getting any easier. I stilll think about driving up to my peddlers place at night.
The monetary rewards alone are terrific, let alone the health benefits.
Stay strong bro.
I wouldn't ever eat anything scraped off the sea bed. Bleh, oysters.
cyp - you said 'some' people. Meaning others find it hard to give up. We're all different and I'm sure there is something in all of us that triggers an addictive side, from working out to chocolate to weed to whatever. As for the physical agent that is addictive in weed, it is probably the social aspect.
When I smoked I wasn't very sociable in the recognised sense but I could easily waste 36 hours with little sleep on an online game being 'sociable'. The last activity associated with weed for me was WoW. As soon as I got rid of one, I found the other easy. There is generally always an association.

bc some people just man up and do it. and some people pout around claiming how hard it is and whatever. they need it mentally more than their body needs it physically. thats what makes them weak. they 'cant give it up' mentally. they let themselves be controlled.

This whole topic and convo is past stupid.
Weed, talking about weed here. I'm by no means a everyday, all day weed smoker. Shit, sometimes I buy a once and it just sits there because I'm too busy with work and music and shit. The same thing happens when I buy a 6-pack of beer. Sometimes I drink it right away, sometimes it sits there for a minute.
Anyways, it's not like coke or heroin addiction. Or peoples robbing drug stores for pills.
It's weed.
If you don't have a problem with me smoking it, thank you.
If you do have a problem with me smoking it, thank you too.
I don't give a fuck. Seriously.
If you're selling your moms couch or sucking dick for weed. I think your problems are way more advanced than a weed addiction.
And if you feel you need a congratulations because you cut it out of your life...
Get the fuck outta here. Get your fucking life on track. Stay in your lane.

it's easy to smoke weed all day e'ry day and just get in a rut. but it's not something as simple as "it's not addictive" or "it's just weed"
some people let weed define them. when they are running low or out, they will have emotional difficulties trying to score their next bag.
but if everyone agrees it makes you a lazy weak shit, I would rather have less lazy weak shits around, no?

being high is cool. you just zone out. but its very hard to be a functioning productive member of society when your high as shit 24/7. i know a couple dudes that actually pull it off, but many many more that do not.
i just have came to the realization its moderation, like anything, that is key. it does increase your senses for music/arts, creativity, and taste among other things. its certainly not inherently a bad plant by any means. but you just need balance in your life.
some people cant even handle it in moderation tho, they always fall back into heavy use. those people just need to cut it out for good. but if you can use it like a responsible adult then its a useful plant imo.
