Upfront let me say I find 98.4% of the nationally syndicated comic strip "Doonesbury" to be irrelevant in 2012. So it just blows me away when something as irrelevant as Doonesbury decides to do something relevant to the year 2012 over 50 of the nations dwindling newspapers banned the strip!

What does it say about the state of our society when so many state legislators seem to make the passage of laws de-humanizing women their main priority, but newspapers are afraid of running comic strips satirizing these laws?

So here w/o any further ado are the banned Doonesbury comics from last week.

Where's the part where the father is shamed for impregnating the woman? Oh right....

I wish these right wing dipshits would accept the fact that people have sex. Shame does not eliminate non reproductive sex. It's obvious that educating young people so they make safer choices is the best way to avoid abortion! I don't think I could have an abortion, but I sure as shit would high tail it to a clinic for the morning after pill if there was a slip up. I've been banging dudes for 13 years without getting diseased or knocked up, and I have the comprehensive sex ed classes of my youth to thank. I was taught that sex should be a mutual decision, carried out in a respectful and enjoyable way for both parties. I also learned that penetration isn't the only way for people to get off.

I learned this shit in the 90's, and did a project on sex ed in college...never thought things would regress this much, it's super weird

I'm gonna make a bumpersticker -

"Know those men and women dying for your wars? Their parents chose life!"
