I saw it on Monday night - won tix on KROQ. I am a huge fan of the books, but was not disappointed in the movie. Of course, there's a ton of things that were left out and you can't read into Katniss' thoughts like you get from the book, but visually, the director nailed a lot of what was in my head while reading. I have a lot of criticism, but this is the first book I've loved where the movie didn't kill it for me.

Definitely no comparison at ALL to the Twilight franchise and not the same as Battle Royale.

I've never read the books, but I saw the movie this weekend. I give it 4 out of 5 bags of popcorn. It was very good, different than the usual crap we're fed, a bit too long, but painted the picture well without being bogged down while giving the backstory. Not too much violence displayed, the language wasn't bad either. It's definitely geared towards teenagers, but it's enjoyable for people of all ages.

I don't know too much about the movie but I want to see it as she kicked ass in Winters Bone. Watch that flick if you haven't seen it.
