And back when I watched SoulTrain, I was mostly into punk, and it was still a good show.

So glad I, 'we', didn't grow up in the segregation era but I'm sure he helped close segregation with AB than help it in the long run. Not saying he was perfect in the issue but to depict him as a racist with all he has done is a bit shallow.

Agreed,fair enough,I was in a pissy mood...plus even as a Canadian my first memory's of New Years eve and being able make it to midnight were alway's with him on the tube in the background...waiting for the drop...
