On behalf of the staff at beastiemania.com I would like to offer our condolences to the friends and family of Adam Yauch. The outpouring of emotion and well wishes that many have expressed on this board and through other media outlets echo strongly in our hearts. Many people have expressed what Adam meant to them, far more eloquently than I could hope to do. It is with a heavy heart that we look to a future without Adam among us.

We apologize to anyone who has attempted to access the site since Adams death. Our web host was not prepared to handle the deluge of traffic on the site that coincided with the news. Please be assured that we are working on getting back on line as soon as is possible.

As I type this I have more feelings than I can properly express, but suffice it to say that - like most of you reading this message – all of us at beastiemania have had Adam in our lives for 25 years. Like you we are faced with the question of how to react… carry on. In short, Beastiemania was created in an attempt to provide information on everything Beastie to fans around the world. It is, and always has been, a labor of love. That love is what compels us to continue to do what we love to do.

Thanks to all of you who have come together to share your feelings about Adam. It has helped me personally deal with the loss.

Big hug BFL... As always, if I can do anything to help...

Bake sale? Car wash? I'm down. :p

Like you we are faced with the question of how to react… carry on.

Like you (Amazing) guys over there, I'm right now going back and forth in my little brain wondering what would be the "right" thing to do. Also like you guys I don't run an official site, just a fan site for other people who share the Beastie passion. I really don't know how the guys felt about our sites, so I don't know if I should close or keep it up, and continue on.

I've talked to quite a few people over the last few days and I pretty much get "Do what you feel." But it doesn't make the decision any easier. At this point it's not about money, or time, it's about what's right...

We're sharing things that we've always been allowed to share here, Live shows, Remixes, Pellas, etc... The guys seemed to embrace the remix community, but do they want to hear anymore now... I just don't know. :(

Sorry to hijack your thread.... I tried Beastiemania about 10x yesterday and today looking for factual information about our Three bad brothers, and ended up having to rely on sketchy info. So Thanks for all you guys do, and HURRY BACK!!!

Much Love s7

You do what you gotta silence but for me its not about the money, or time but i do think its about the music. its gotta go on and on. I was always a fan of the boys but getting into the remixing increased my interest and love for the band a million times over and for that reason i hope your site stays. May the force be with you.

Thank you BeastieMania. You run a fine site. And you know I love Beastie Mixes. I know many people do. I guess again it goes back to how you feel about continuing it. Do you want to? Because if you then I am sure many people and DJ's will still be offering their contributions and people will be interested more than ever in listening to their music, but I am sure there will be others like me OR not, who can't bare it.

I have been able to view photos and since I do run a gallery I had my photo contact just send me a batch of MCA photos. Great great photoshoots of him that if i can gather enough strength I would like to share them and keep up the gallery. I think. :/ Its just gonna be a bitch for me personally to handle it all.

With this being a difficult time for the Beastie Boys online community, it is great to see so many people return here to the Beastie Boys message board.

On that note, many of you have been going through your collections and looking through old photos or odds and end that you have collected over the years. If you have something unique or rare that has not been included within the walls of beastiemania.com – please take the time to scan your item and send it on to us with whatever information you know about it…. I can be reached at ninthbeastie@hotmail.com
