Anything for Adam.
All we can do is try to send some love; and maintain a respectful distance. Their privacy is the most important thing right now. But I think if we're super delicate we can create some positivity in Beastie Nation without treading on anyone's grieving process.
Thanks for your support.

I wish it had been for another reason.
I wish Khloe could be free to be thrilled by this.
This is the definition of "bittersweet".
But we can't change things. No matter how hard we wish. I've spent two-and-a-half days waiting to wake up from the nightmare and it's finally sinking in.............this is real.
All we can do is get through it together. And if we can make a positive impact on others; so much the better.

That was...............................kindness on an intergalactic scale.
You are so right about him "not having to". We gotta keep being really careful now; don't wanna make them feel pestered. I think we've been respectful so far. I hope y'all agree. Message me immediately if you sense I'm crossing a line. All of you. Really.

I hope he chose that picture knowingly about who you are, he saw something special in your picture and his senses were right. He scoped and chose from thier #1 fan. I wish I could elaborate deeply to him of why he chose the right photo.
The fact that he saw pwr2mca brought tears to my eyes. Feeling like we all made something that was special to him. I am more than looking forward to all the charities and volunteer work I'll be getting involved in, I'm gonna rep a beastie shirt to every even. I'm wearing adidas pants now and I think "Rock my adidas, never rock fila!" dressin fresh fly for the dopest of dope.

Hey dude;
These are the ones that the action-figure-money supports; they're children's-cancer charities:
https://secure.commonground.convio.com/pablove/donate/
http://www.alexslemonade.org/contribute
And this is the Milarepa Fund:
(mail cheques to)
The Milarepa Fund
c/o Michael Walsh
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, LLP
1880 Century Park East, Suite 1600
Los Angeles, CA 90067
The Milarepa Fund is an American non-profit organisation that raises money for and promotes awareness of the Tibetan independence movement. The Milarepa Fund was founded in May 1994, by Adam Yauch and Erin Potts.
Those were just my suggestions, though. It's your call! Do whatever means something to you. Something you think would mean something to Yauch and the boys.
Khloe supported the American Cancer Society. She is our treasure.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek: seriously im in a fuckin dream...thats that......hahahha i cant believe this!!!!!
I can barely express myself because I’m so overwhelmed by the emotion of this……..
…….but if you’ll bear with me I’m gonna do my best:
Khloe; I know how much you’re hurting right now.
I can’t believe such a wonderful thing has happened to you during the worst week of your entire life.
Of course we all know you’re still struggling and this is not gonna just switch off the pain; but the fact that this is giving you a little bit of a thrill every day makes me feel so happy that I’m crying tears of joy.
I know you cop a lot of flack; but y’know what, kiddo? Not many people your age would’ve figured out how awesome the B-Boys are and you deserve a lot of respect for your devotion to them.
Adam; if you are reading this; I don’t know how to THANK YOU for doing this for all of us. That picture you posted on the blog? You should know that the hand belongs to your NUMBER #1 FUCKING FAN and you could not possibly imagine how much this means to her.
The fans were knocked flat by this news.
None of us here pretend to be suffering anywhere NEAR as much as his actual loved ones. We aren’t friends. We aren’t family. We’re FANS. Our grief is inconsequential compared to theirs.
This is why it meant so much that Adam Horovitz; who is ACTUALLY grieving (I mean serious-real-life-grieving-for-a-person-he-actually-KNEW-and-loved); took the time to think of US.
Adrock himself pulled Khloe back up onto her feet. And the rest of us, too.
“life comes in phases take the good with the bad………..”
Hang in there; Khloe girl. Every time you feel down; all you need to do is remember that incredible instant you saw your very own photo on the official Beastie Boys blog.
During the most horrible, dreadful, unspeakably awful time in Beastie history; YOUR photo was the one that made us all smile.
He could have posted a million other photos………..some gorgeous pic of Yauch at the Freedom concerts or at Sundance; an old photo of all three of them; a screen-shot of one of the hundreds of tributes from all over the world from people with much more clout than us. Like the flag at Capitol records; or the flowers outside G-Son; or the cover of the NY Times.
He could have posted anything.
He chose a picture of us.
A picture that represented the fans.
We care about them SO much and I take great comfort from the fact that we spent the final weeks of Yauch’s life united as a community; trying our very best to get our messages of support to them.
Think about this: I wrote the very first post about PWR2MCA on the same night he went into hospital.
The Hall of Fame day. That’s when I wrote it.
That whole time he was in hospital? The WHOLE time? His fans were out in the world; none the wiser…………and all that time we were campaigning for him……..frantically emailing and tweeting and Facebooking and telling anyone who would listen about PWR2MCA. Telling everyone about our hero Adam Yauch; and how he taught us about peace and non-violence; and Tibet; and women’s rights; and unity and interconnectedness……..and how he taught us to trust in ourselves…….and how we wanted to offer him our love and respect to the end……...
……..we didn’t even know he was so gravely ill……………we were only doing it because the timing “felt” right.
Have you thought about that?
It’s staggering.
We have never done anything like that before. We had 30 years to do this for him. How absolutely amazing that the fans chose THIS month of ALL months to create this movement………….don’t you think that’s INCREDIBLY co-incidental timing?
I’m so glad we did it. I’ve found it comforting to have actual, solid, physical evidence of how much we cared about him. There’s a LOT of evidence. I should know. Y’all emailed it to ME.
By posting that photo on the blog Adam Horovitz made it CRYSTAL clear that they care about us, too. You will never find another band SO considerate of their fans.
Do you remember this? On the 15th of April (only a couple of weeks ago) this message was posted on the board by dave790:
“……..I listened to a cool interview yesterday with Yauch on some radio show in the states around the time of the Awesome DVD. It's funny as... But there's a great piece where he says they may not be the best band in the world (debateable), but that they definitely have the best fans in the world……….”
Well; quite typically; Yauch was right.
I think the past weeks have proved that.
The Beasties DO have the best fans in the world.
But the only reason we’re so fiercely loyal to them is because they’ve always been SO GOOD to us.
They’re the best.
You shoulda heard my family when I told them about Adam’s post. They said; “……WELL that was unnecessary…….….that’s the LAST thing he should be thinking about………goodness golly gracious me….…..he must be a VERY nice man…….this Beastie Boy……….”
…………indeed.
THANKYOU ADAM. You are such a nice man. (My mum says so.)
I feel honoured to call myself a Beastie Boys fan.
Always have.
Always will.

Shazam.
What a beautiful post, I read every word.
You posted my every thought, this took my breath away.
Everything you just said was so perfect I wouldn't add or remove sla single word to that amazing post.
Adam Horovitz you're a blessed man. You and your brothers are the only three men I'm convinced are truly the making of a beautiful flawless god. Prime examples of the most perfect beings. Thank you so much for reaching out to us, and whatever sense you had to choose Khloes picture was the strongest definition of correct. Just know you chose the girl who would prove wrong any person who tried to say any different of you men.
Michael Diamond thank you so much for the breathtaking photo of Yauch up on that big screen. Your post made my eyes well up with teats, they poured down my face before a single sob even came out. Those are true tears, of so many different feelings and gratefulness. I hope you and Horrorvitz are making each others company joyful in this sad time.
Again to Yauchs family, i can't express how incredibly sorry I am, Anything in the world to help with the pain you're feeling I would do it in a spli second.
Never have I seen a man so loved by so many people, all ages all places and all types. His spirit lives on immortally.
Sarah, thank you for this awesome post and creating PWR2MCA or it wouldn't have gone NATIONAL.
and Khloe, thank you so much for your photo. This wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for your amazing bank of CDs and outstanding love for the beastie boys.
Adam we love you and miss you. Rest in peace, your flows will make my ears sing for a million lifetimes.

Who here is on twitter? So much love flowing through there right now. I want to follow any of you folks who may have it. It's a great way to stay in touch with fellow Beastie fans and hip hop heads. I've teared up so many times in the last week just reading everyone's memories and seeing crazy instagram photos from ortiz and money mark. Thanks or starting this ladies. I've made some changes to that poster for you if you'd like to take a look at it later.

Sarah, you did it once again my friend...
Tears are rolling down my face right now reading your kind words....
Are beastie boys fans the most genuine people or what?????
I'd like to thank you so much, because this has been an emotional roller coaster, for me...(and i bet others) and you taking the time to write something THAT sincere and sweet, brings tears of joy down my face.
ADROCK- i freakin LOVE the dude...like words cant describe, and your totally right about how caring he is, to send us a shout-out for our dedication to Yauch..is truly incredible..
i can barley type because its blurry, but thanks for everything girl! You've been the most positive, strong fan here on the boards throughout, and you've never doubted my #1fan-ness, whereas...other people have on this board...and ME....being the first fan picture to be posted by Mr. Horovitz himself, proves my name.

I actually think it's kinda cool that this whole thing is just between Adrock and the fans.
That's all we ever wanted it to be. A message from the fans, to the band. It's just between us!
The press still hasn't found out. Maybe they never will. It's not like it's a secret; but it's pretty funny to watch them try to puzzle it out.
If you read all the media articles; they have absolutely no idea what's going on. They haven't figured out what "PWR2MCA" means.
It's kinda nice.

All I see here is too much admiration for someone (band or members, not saying they do not deserve it ) or too much hate...

@BeastieBoysMCA
I'd suggest you take a little time to reconsider. Remember that a forum is not the same as twitter, and using an online account to give an exact reflection of your stream of consciousness, rendered as a stream of piecemeal statements, might be appropriate on twitter, but on a forum -- not so much.
Thanks.

I feel like such an idiot having read this thread. But:
The fist thing is nothing at all to with Beastieboys#1 Fan. It was an appropriate image for him to use in the days following MCA's passing, but I don't even think Horovitz would have received the low-down on the whole movement until after the fact.
Again, it was a fitting way to represent his gratitude to the fans, but it had nothing to do with any individual, or any individual's fist, or any individual's movement. It was the perfect image for his message, though. Nothing more to it, really.
So quickly do things around here (even when well-intentioned) degenerate into nothing more than celebrity worship, and take on a selfish edge. It sucks.

nod a little.

Why does it matter?
LucieT
07-22-2012, 12:32 PM
Because BeastieBoysMCA thinks that because Khloe got her photo on Beastie Boys website made her popular and met them...
So BeastieBoysMCA is trying to find a way to be popular and meet them...abviously..
So listen BeastieBoysMCA: having your fave idol using a photo of you..is probably exciting, that's why she (Khloe) openned this thread I believe...but it does not change anything at all...I did have some talk with some more or less "famous" artist via twitter for exemple...it's nothing at all...celebs nowaday tend to check what it is said on internet about them...it's natural...and with twitter, blogs etc...they can sometime respond directly to some fans..yes that happens...that does not make you more special...you got your idol attention for two secs..wow big deal...that's it that's all...
Adrock was abviouly touched by all the fans and people attention about mca's death...that's why he posted it..
You are 27...I don't want to be harsh with you but it's time to grow up...and get more mature, you're a good person, you don't need this to look better here or anywhere else...
Now I feel myself ridiculous by spending so much time explaining this to you...I'm sorry

Dear Adam Horovitz, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that I have been a fan since like 1986. I really appreciate all you and your crew have done to make this world a more entertaining place to live. I would also like to apologize if I ever came accross as demanding, or seemed to be somewhat of a pain in the ass. I admit that I originally got on the internet to try and get intouch with you and your band members. I love the Beastie Boys, I love you! I love all that you have rapped about, and I love your humour even more.
I have always tried to stay upbeat and be a joking type/somewhat of a mocking person just to keep pace with you all.
In our more recent history things have just been fucked up, and i have learned more about myself and fellow fans.
In so many ways I have been a selfish fan even when i was trying to be supportive.

He reached out TO THE FANS by posting on a stupid ass blog to let us know he appreciated all of the condolensces following the death of his best friend. He doesn't owe us that or anything beyond it but it was kind of him to acknowledge everyone. That's it.
What's with some of you people? Bunch of overly emotional weirdos! Disturbing fanaticsm as of late. Used to be a bunch of beastie heads. Becoming weird lately.

What?! That's news to me. I'm taking my pumpkin pie and going home then.

I have created a profile here to specifically address the rant posted by Ashley Emal (aka BeastieBoysMCA).
I read this messageboard all the time but I admit I’ve been too much of a snob to post. But today, I am too angry to keep silent.
I don’t want to come across as a bully. I’m not like that. I hope that’s not the impression you get.
I am a longtime Beastie fan. In saying that, I warmly welcome anyone who is new to the band, and who may have only become a fan recently. It’s OK by me if you jumped on board "late". It’s not a competition. You’re a fan now, and that’s all I need to know.
However.
Ashley; I don’t want you to think that I include YOU in that welcoming statement.
In my humble opinion (and it is only an opinion) you should be ashamed of yourself. It upsets me that you would claim to be a fan of Adam Yauch and would attempt to associate yourself with him in any way. I don’t like the thought of you walking around with his face on your shirt.
Please consider this point of view for one moment: THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU.
It’s fine that you like Adam Yauch the most out of the three. But do you honestly think he’d be impressed with YOU? When you shit on Adam Horovitz like that?
Who do you think you are?
Horovitz is an exemplary human being and he deserves your respect. Any true Beastie fan would know that. How dare you criticize him, and accuse him of having "favorites" amongst the fans? You are totally immature. That is SO not what his post was about, and I’m sure Khloe herself would say that.
You’d GET that if you understood ANYTHING about these 3 guys.
Yauch adored both Horovitz and Mike D, and "proving" how much you love MCA by insulting the other 2 guys only proves how shallow and heartless you are. Your comments aren’t just poor taste, they’re offensive.
Khloe started this thread to celebrate a wonderfully generous gesture on the part of Adam Horovitz, NOT to promote HERSELF. That’s why she called this thread "Adam Horovitz’s latest post" and not "LOOK AT ME ON THE BEASTIE BOYS BLOG - HOW FUCKING AMAZING AM I? YIPPEE!!!!" (even though she COULD have).
She gave HOROVITZ the credit, not herself. And in that moment, we learnt a lot about the type of person she really is.
She has NOT talked nonsense, such as Adrock must have realized who she was, and how she’s definitely his fave, how she deserves to be congratulated, and how she’s the only "real" fan they have and all the other fans can kiss her ass……………and all of that crazy weird insane shit. She hasn’t said anything at all like that. She’s joked that it’s made her feel "official", and it’s clear she’s just SO excited and grateful it was HER photo. And I say: Good for her. She deserves to be excited. (I’m excited FOR her, and I’ve never even spoken to the girl.) I think her reaction has been perfectly natural, gracious and very sweet, really.
On the day he posted her photo on the blog, Horovitz proved once and for all that the Beastie Boys are the kings of the fans.
If you’re jealous of Khloe, you need to get some perspective.
Sarah obviously chose Khloe as the official PWR2MCA representative because she appreciates the kid’s commitment to the band.
Adrock obviously chose to put PWR2MCA on the blog because he appreciates what ALL the fans do everyday to support his band. He said so. He said it made him "glad".
The fact that you feel hard done-by because one of the Beastie Boys chose NOT to put a photo of your t-shirt on their blog is baffling. How egocentric ARE you?
Do you think he has the time or the inclination to post EVERY SINGLE FAN TRIBUTE on his blog? You are one of MILLIONS. OK?
The man just lost his brother. Show some respect.
I think the compassion gland is missing in your brain.
In posting Khloe’s photo, he made a symbolical gesture. He was thanking ALL the fans. And he didn’t need to do it at all. He owes us NOTHING. We should be thanking HIM. (Which is actually why we’re doing PWR2BEASTIES.) It would take an incredibly selfish person to interpret such a beautiful gesture as a personal attack on THEM, as you have done.
You don’t hear Paul Sid ranting about Horovitz not posting a photo of HIS shirt. And by the way, the proceeds from Paul’s shirt go to Yauch’s Milarepa Fund.
I’d like to ask what positive action YOU took for PWR2MCA? I only ask because you seem unusually willing to ask favors of people you don’t even know. I wonder if it ever goes the other way? Everybody else seems to have contributed to a charity, or run in the Relay For Life, or created an artwork/remix/ something to share. It’s inspiring. It’s cathartic. It’s empowering. It’s created joy, cohesion, peace and purpose. It’s been a godsend during this awful time.
What have YOU done, Ashley? NOTHING. Except rant! And complain about nobody giving you props for having a shirt custom-made (even though Jackie DID take the time to compliment you on it, and was only met by your verbal tirade).
You think you’re the only one who made a shirt?
We ALL did!
HELLO!!!!???????????
Oh, and WOW! You have a Beastie Boys ring? Oh my god. You must be their biggest fan. (Sorry, I’ve been reading too many Condescending Wonka tweets.)
I’m not suggesting that you have to prove how much you love MCA by making a huge donation to a charity. Not at all. That’s NOT what Sarah’s asking, that’s not her idea. But the whole point of PWR2MCA was to create and promote positive vibes, and you’ve done nothing but spread NEGATIVITY.
Speaking of which; I really resent the fact that Sarah’s beautiful project has been tarnished by YOUR presence. I’m uncomfortable with the thought of your picture being in the scrapbook she’s sending to Adam and Mike. It’s supposed to be a project for people who love and support them. Neither one of those applies to you.
Sarah is working SO HARD on this and she’s treated everyone (including you) with nothing but respect and kindness. You are being really rude to her.
Do you think we can’t see your tweets, and all the messages you leave for Sarah on Facebook? It’s getting to the point where you’re harassing her. She already SAID she’d put your pictures in the scrapbook (which is MORE THAN I WOULD DO!!!).
What on earth do you want from her? Back off, Ashley. You should be very grateful that she continues to treat you with such patience and kindness. If it were ME, I would have blocked you by now. SHE is the type of fan the Beastie Boys deserve to have and maybe you should try and act more like her. Unlike you, SHE doesn’t pretend to be anything she’s not, and she’s the first to make a joke at her own expense. I wish I had so much class at such a young age.
Instead of ranting about what you believe is owed to you, how about doing something for others? You complain that no-one has reached out to you. Well, have YOU reached out to anyone? And exactly what credit do you think you deserve? How about giving credit to people who’ve ACTUALLY earned it?
Such as Sarah. I feel very defensive whenever I see you’ve sent her yet another public message. You are all about the "take, take, take" and SHE’S all about the "give, give, give". More than anyone else, she has focussed on respecting and celebrating everything that was wonderful about Adam Yauch.
Seriously, after all she’s done with this project, they should put her in charge of Milarepa. I can’t think of anyone Yauch would approve of MORE. She’s a true professional. And she’s currently their most vocal online advocate. Search for them on Twitter - you’ll find Sarah. She was the one who tracked them down in the first place so we could offer our donations, and she was promoting them long before May the 4th. But I digress.
If you claim to be an MCA fan, Ashley, you should be bending over in gratitude to her. The fact that you’re constantly hassling her really makes my blood boil. Please stop pestering her with your silly nonsense. She is too nice to say anything, but that doesn’t mean you’re allowed to take advantage of her good heart.
And STOP these resentful little snipes about Khloe. Khloe is clearly legit. You are clearly NOT.
Before I posted today, I read everything you’ve written online since you suddenly decided you were a Yauch fan. (Twitter/Facebook/tumblr/this messageboard.) Not to stalk you, but to try and form a fair opinion. Your comments are often juvenile, inappropriate, disrespectful and self-centred. My response today is not only based on your rant in this thread; but on countless other tasteless remarks you’ve made online. At first I thought you were just annoying. But you took it to another level. You’ve gone too far this time, Ashley.
Bullshit.
Quite the opposite! Everyone has been trying really hard to welcome you into the Beastie fan community. I’m sure plenty of them are finding it difficult to remain patient with you. I couldn’t stay silent any longer. Something had to be said. It would probably be much better for me to just ignore you, which is what I have done for the past few weeks when you’ve mostly been talking about yourself.
But when you started accusing an incredibly considerate person like Adam Horovitz of being unfair and uncaring; when you’re rude to someone as lovely as Jackie (when she was only trying to compliment you); when you make nasty, resentful remarks about Khloe (who didn’t ASK to be put on the blog); and when you make completely unreasonable demands of generous people like Sarah who owe you NOTHING………well, Ashley? You pushed me over the edge. I felt compelled to stand up and say something.
Adam? And these girls? They have integrity. You do not.
I don’t believe that what I’ve written will change your behavior at all. It’s not for me to change you. That’s not why I wrote this. The reason I wrote this is to show my support for Adam and the girls, and everybody else you’ve managed to annoy/insult/offend.
If you dislike Adam Horovitz so much then I really wonder WHY ON EARTH you’d want to be involved in this community at all. If the Beastiefans of the world have similarly failed to impress you, perhaps the best thing to do would be to pack your things and find yourself another band.
Grow Up, or Go Away.
That’s my opinion, Ashley Emal.
I’m done.
PS. Adam Horovitz – I suspect you read this messageboard sometimes, and I want to sincerely apologize to you.
I hope you don’t think the words and the actions of Ashley Emal reflect what the rest of the fans are thinking. I personally was extremely touched by your efforts to reach out to ALL of us; and I know I wasn’t the only one. I regret that I failed to get on this messageboard earlier to say so. You are classy. CLASSY. That is the word for it. Both you AND Mike. Nothing but respect for you, man. Now more than ever.
THANK YOU 1 billion times!!!!
You couldn't have explained it better.

What's with some of you people? Bunch of overly emotional weirdos!
Overly emotional? Totally…........….people are acting as if someone just DIED……….
:(
I AM emotional right now. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Many of us are doing and saying things that are a little out-of-character. We’re experiencing grief. (It’s nothing compared to the grief his friends and family are coping with, but it doesn’t mean we’re not hurting in our own way.)
This world is upside down.
When in doubt; quote Adrock:
“shit is fucked up right now”.
When I read tributes written by people who actually knew Yauch, a common theme seemed to be that he was the type of guy who made everyone around him feel good about themselves. He made people feel accepted. That’s a really admirable quality.
Isn’t that the point of this messageboard? To make people feel welcome? To offer support? To treat people with respect, even if you disagree with them?
I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s the reason I ended up here. I need you guys for support. I really do. And I’m more than happy to be a listening ear if you wanna pour your heart out to me. I won’t judge you, I won’t accuse you of being silly or over-sensitive. I’ll just listen (because there have been SO MANY people who’ve done that for me on this board, and I don’t know WHAT I would have done without them. So I wanna pay it back).
you've got to SAAAAAAAAYYYYYY it ; let it out let it out!
Exactly. Thanks Johnny. <3 Thankyou.
Anyway. Next topic? Adam’s post (which is what this original thread was about):
it was a fitting way to represent his gratitude to the fans, but it had nothing to do with any individual, or any individual's fist, or any individual's movement. It was the perfect image for his message, though.
So quickly do things around here (even when well-intentioned) degenerate into nothing more than celebrity worship, and take on a selfish edge. It sucks.
I don’t apologise for being completely blown away by Adam’s post. I’m not embarrassed to admit that I get a little teary every time I think of it. Same goes for the post Mike made on Facebook that same night. It was a very raw, emotional time. I thought their posts were A Big Deal and incredibly considerate. I don’t think that makes me (or anybody else on this thread) a celebrity worshipper.
I just thought it was beautiful thing for them to do. I’m not gonna front. I’m a tender-hearted little individual and I loved them for it. Beastly beastie boys.
(Come on KP – didn’t you cry when you read Mike’s Facebook? Didn’t you mist up JUST A LITTLE? Come ON?!!! You did, didn’t you? YOU BIG SOFTIE!!!!
DID you? I bet you did…………hahahahahahaha……no? Just me, then? Oh, dearie dear, dear, perhaps I need to toughen up!)
PS. but……….KP - I TOTALLY agree with you that they were both reaching out to ALL of the fans, not one specific group, and I know Khloe has said the same. We’ve been saying that the whole time. If anyone feels excluded, I think they kinda missed Adrock’s point.
WOW, i was gone for a week and i missed this shit?
Yeah; I hopped onto this thread to post this link for you (to add to your screen shot collection) and I found there’s been a wee bit of chatter in the past few days! Just a little. Bit. Not much. Nothing really.
http://thehiphopupdate.com/news/beastie-boys-ad-rock-posts-blog-entry-regarding-mca/
I still get excited whenever we find another one! I’ll keep posting them here for you so you can show your grandkids one day! Maybe other people might think I’m silly, but it still makes me smile that my friend Khloe ended up on the Bboys blog!
(PS. Khloe: email me if you are worried about anything on this thread. OK? Day or night.)
ONE last thing, then I’m out:
Can somebody please talk to me? I need to express my feelings to someone and it will help me. It would mean a lot to me.
Ashley; do you know what I think? I think everyone deserves a fresh start.
You have apologised, and I admire you for that. You are correct when you say you have a right to express yourself.
All I wanna say is that I hope you’ll keep posting positive things like this, because it makes me happy:
Nothing is wrong with me I'm more of a MCA fan even though I will always have respect of the other two.
That’s so much better than saying negative things. I really appreciate it when you try to say nice things.
My opinion? I think if you come to this msgbrd to offer respect for the band; board members will find it difficult to give you a hard time. If you say not-so-nice things, people get a little upset. Maybe we’re being a bit sensitive – that’s probably because most of us are really hurting right now (and I know you’re hurting too). Does that make sense?
I really want you to feel welcome and accepted here. I want everyone on this board to feel like that, because that’s how I feel when I’m here.
Ashley, do you know what I think? I think you should keep working on that tumblr of yours. I know you decided to take it down, but that made me sad - because you were really doing a great job. I loved to look at the pictures and the articles you chose to upload. The great thing about tumblr is you can post as much as you like, and no-one will worry. I think tumblr is ideally suited to your style, girl. You can be free to let it aaaaaalllllllll out!
If you decide to create a new tumblr, I would be very happy to be your first follower. What do you say?
If you keep making an effort to stay positive and you show respect to our board members, then I think everything will be OK.
OK?
It’s alright, Ashley. Don’t worry. Please don’t be miserable, sweetie. Nobody is allowed to be miserable on the Beastie Boys messageboard!
Go and press “play” on Brass Monkey! Instant cure for the miseries!!

Btw to JRyall, Thank you very much for the compliments (:
Everything you said about Khloe and Sarah is completely true, and I couldn't have said that better myself. I really appreciate that you called me lovely, and complimented two people I love dearly to deeply in which they completely deserve. Without Sarah, PWR2MCA and PWR2BEASTIES wouldnt have even come into effect at all. All her hard work is incredible and id even go as far to say beautiful and spiritual.
I try so hard to be patient w/ you Ashley, you make it very very difficult. JRyall said what needed to be said. He did his absolute best to NOT sound mean but being firmly accurate. Look, I know you're a deep fan and I know it hurts that people are getting upset with you and you seem to not understand why but you're not being attacked. We love our fellow fans but when you act the way you do, and were the type of people who are dedicated to love and peace and respect because thats what we were taught by the beasties we don't stand for such disrespect to be floating amongst our beastie safe haven. None of this is personally about any of us, is about the boys, its about love and respect, its about kindness and coming together, its about showing the kind of admiration that the world is slowing lacking more and more throughout time. We learned this from our boys, and I was shocked to read you saying ANYTHING even slightly negative about Horovitz.
Khloe has also tried being very patient with you, and I believe shes the type of person that you really have to push her buttons for her to react annoyed with you like she has been with you on twitter.
I really don't like to end up typing long things like this considered ranting but I just wanted to put my two cents out there. Ashley, id love to be able to respect you as a fan and even as a person but when you act like this its hard to grasp it. Ill even say when I first came around here, I wasnt very liked by everyone and I was also kind of annoying, the people here warm up to each other so quickly and I dont think its too late for you to redeem yourself. You need to respect yourself, respect the artists you are into, respect the other people around you and your fellow fans, respect the fact that were all in this together not divided and separated by favorites or importance.
So, yeah.
PS I love all of you that i've met on this board, I feel really blessed this morning that I have this board and you all.

Yes, that's why it touched me, too. That he'd be thinking of us at all; in THAT moment. Amazing generosity. That's what makes me teary. I feel the same way about it as you do. It's nothing to do with any one individual; it's a collective, all-encompassing, community thing. That was the vibe I got from it, and it was a good, good feeling. United!

I totally agree with you. I joined this place after the post was made & tbh, every place I read an article that had that picture made it seem like it was AH's picture he did. I'm by no means the biggest fan here, not even close. I don't consider myself a BIG fan. But every time I read peoples experiences with the guys (fans or otherwise) I can't help but have more respect & love for them. Without saying a word, the fact that picture was chosen to express feelings speaks HUGE volumes about the humility the band shows & this thread, up until recently, showed the humility of true fans.
And anyone that says they don't like a band member, doesn't get IT. This isn't One Direction. You don't have a cute one or a quiet one. They are a TRUE band. When one part is taken out or leaves, it's not a band anymore, at least not the same one. I hope that makes sense. I'm typing in my iPhone thru tears in my eyes. Crazy.

I got a PM from one of them bitching about one of my "rude posts" and they were using my first name too! I mean, it's not too hard to figure out with other forms of social media starting to blend with this one but it was still kinda creepy.

Don't lump me into the newbie-crazy train. I have a hard time believing that this is the board's first rodeo with insane newbies. Is this board moderated?

The whole "newbie" thing you guy should stop it...only the webmaster own this forum and moderators have some control...this forum does not own more to the ones who spend time posting like 6000 times here than the ones who posted 10 times...show some respect please!

"One of them?" I really don't think you should flatter yourself so. By talking about the ever evolving social media like that, are you implying that someone cared enough about you or your rude remarks to investigate you? Maybe they are just very unlucky and simply, actually know you in real life?

OK; just wanted to clarify because I’m really embarrassed! Someone has just asked me if I wrote the JRyall post, and obviously I didn’t. I’m really sorry! You guys know me pretty well, I guess – but I wouldn’t do that. I only have one username everywhere (except on YouTube where I have several channels, but they’re all PacMan characters!)
However I am happy to admit that I know JRyall, (“know” him online) and he’s been very supportive of me privately, and we talk often. So I hope that explains it. I didn’t know he was gonna write that post, though! I’m really sorry if anyone else got that impression that I wrote it. I’m embarrassed!
(I do appreciate what he said, though. Not just about me, but about the others, too. But I’m sorry if anyone took offense.)
I dig a good mystery! First of all I ain't never heard a dude refer to himself as a snob??? Or say that he just "can't" stay silent. Next, let's call him "johnnie", johnnie, or whoever, it really was not cool of you to slap this girls real name all over here with all that drama. Last, I'm new here to and I would have to be crazy in my first post to start welcoming people. So I see why some think people on here are whacked!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Happy Birthday 23rd to PB wish Adam was here for it. He is a beautiful angel in heaven that watches out for us fans everyday. Peace and Love! God Bless!
Now I'm going to come under fire. Oh well.
Enough with the conspicuous tributes, you. They're patronising in the extreme and come off as fake. That's where the heart of your problem lies.
The heart of the community's problem is this notion of conspicuous philanthropy. People are doing good things in MCA's name, sure. But I wonder how many are doing so because it will get them 'closer' to the band?
I understand, they need our support. But that message of love and support is easily conveyed via this here messageboard. That's far enough for me, anyway. More power to those who want to take different steps.
Rob absolutely called it. I was leery of anything purporting to represent 'the fans' from the outset (as anybody familiar with my posts will know - I can speak for myself). It's super-cool the picture was used, but it was immediately framed in terms of the person in the picture, and in terms of the whole PWR movement. While it was a touching message, it was perceived very selfishly.
That a bit of recognition from a band member could lift spirits on a personal level points to mixed motives, as far as I'm concerned. It would have been nice to see a bit of humility, is what I guess I'm angling at.
Glad it cheered some people up, and it did me, but I was also glad that I had no vested interest and could appreciate the sincere intention of the post. In that particular case the reaction was very much about individuals, and not about 'the fans' and I didn't like it.
So to bring it home, this conspicuous philanthropy thing is weirding me out. I don't even need to go into the contributions I've made or what my personal donating habits are, because I'm at ease with my choices and prefer to let the band members find true solace through their loved ones. Again, more power if you feel differently. This is just my opinion.
I will say that grief is an extremely personal thing, and I have gone to great pains to be patient and tolerant of the self-indulgent and outright wacky approaches I've seen. This is truly the 9/11 of being a B-Boys fan.
However, the whole 'movement' was in my mind akin to cheerleading at a funeral. Too much energy, too much enthusiastic faux-activism, far, far too soon. And yes I now realise I come off curmudgeonly in the extreme, but I found this time far too reflective and severe, I guess. That one is on me. I apologise in advance.
My sense of personal empowerment is reflected in my day-to-day life, and is not tied to my fandom of the band. Fortunate for me that I can compartmentalise, I guess. I will support the creative endeavours of Mike and Adam (and indeed the Beastie Boys proper) for the rest of my days. But this whole thing is just dumb, now.
Not intended to offend, and I'm not going to be drawn into a debate. This is just how I feel. Thanks.

KP, please don’t apologise for expressing your opinion. That’s what the messageboard’s for!
Throughout this whole thing you have been a source of wisdom for me. I mean that genuinely.
Having different perspectives posted here makes me see things from an angle I hadn’t considered, which is valuable to me.
As I said before, I only want people to get involved IF THEY WANT TO. If it’s not your “thing” - that’s totally cool. I respect that.
People deal with grief differently. This is how I’m dealing with mine; and some others have decided to join me.
PLENTY of fans haven’t! You aren’t the only one who isn’t comfortable with my idea.
Sometimes I’m not comfortable with it myself. I question it all the time. I don’t know what "the right thing" to do is. There’s no handbook or etiquette guide for this situation. Your 9/11 metaphor was PERFECT.
I want you to know that I’ve written a letter to Mike and Adam explaining that this project IN NO WAY represents ALL of the fans. In fact I used the phrase “very small group” and I’ve also listed all of our names.
I hope that helps a little; but please tell me if you can think of anything I might have overlooked. OK?
You WON’T come under fire from ME, buddy. I promise. My skin is getting thicker! LAY IT ON ME!!!!
I really am trying to be as respectful as I can – of the band, of the PWR2MCAers, of the rest of the fan community.
If you think I’m failing – feel free to give me advice. I welcome it!
KP – good job on speaking your mind. I love you for it. Keep it coming!

"framed"? It was MY hand, and the fact that Adam Horovitz posted it on the blog itself, is a great honor to me as a fan, BUT also everyone who was involved in the PWR2MCA movement, and it was meant for ALL true Beastie fans around the world to know that Horovitz was pleased with our support to Yauch during his illness.
I'm very offended by your comment, but at this point your getting too wrapped up in a grateful message Adrock wrote at probably one of the hardest times in his life.

Here was some advice, back at the ground level:
Yeah I'm gonna wait.
The advice you got from KP and Soze is solid. It's time to chill and let shit run it's course. There is time to be an activist and a time to deactivate. Now is the time for the latter, IMO. No disrespect, but "we" don't need to do anything right now. Just relax, mourn, vent on here and back up out of the mix for a minute. As much as we hurt we don't need to try and be a part of the Adam and mikes grief. Cause we ain't.
Not trying to be insensitive, just my 2 cents.

The way I see it is this:
AH wrote, "I'm glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him". So if there's more love coming their way (which I believe is exactly what PWR2BEASTIES/PWR2MCA is intended to be) that can only be a good thing. The odd craziness in the process notwithstanding.
Barging in on anybody else's grieving it ain't, IMO. If you were to receive a sympathy card from a person you didn't expect it from, would you accuse them of barging in? Surely it would instead be nice to know that the person has made the effort for you. And yes, in this case the "card" is coming from fans who don't even know them personally etc, sure. But then, the average person doesn't, and I'm going back to the quote, put quite as much love out into the world, either.

Here was some advice, back at the ground level:
Yup.
It was great advice.
It still is! The part where you said we aren't part of A+M's grief? I was SO GLAD you said that to me. Thankyou. It made me sit up. I have reminded myself of that every day since you said it. I don't think you realise what an impact you had on me.
At that point, I was still determined to post the box on the 14th of May. WFT was I thinking? That would have been catastrophically tactless. You were a lifesaver.
Sometimes I am all accelerator, and no brakes!
The part of your advice that I wasn't able to take was the "deactivate" part. You were probably quite correct! But I just don't have the it in me! I listened to FAR too much Rage Against the Machine in early childhood!
I kept the project going.
BECAUSE:
It made me feel good to make a donation to Milarepa as my way of doing SOMETHING.
It was cathartic for me to write a letter to Mike and Adam, just to offer my respect. I got it off my chest.
I wanted to help others who felt the same as me.
If A+M never read it; that's fine.
If they don't open the box; that's fine too.
I won't deny how moved I was by Adam's blog post. But that doesn't mean I want ANOTHER response from them, now (when they receive the box). I really, truly don't. I wrote that in my letter to them.
Anyhoo. I don’t want to debate with you guys either. I think you know how I feel; I think that I understand how YOU feel. I hope so.
Just a thought……..
……..pshabi, do you want to write a letter for the mail-pack? One that offers a critical perspective of the project? Or at least an alternative viewpoint? I'm not afraid of being criticised. I won’t edit what you say in any way. KP – I extend that offer to you, too. And anyone else!
If you wanna stay the hell away from it; that’s no worries. I understand!
But I want you to know that I don’t think that I’M RIGHT and YOU’RE WRONG.
Not a bit.
So the offer’s there, OK? It’s the best I can do. Trying my best for everyone.

Man, this is just getting to be downright creeper status. I'm sorry that you are obviously so distraught in all of this, but it feels like you are turning Yauch into a unicorn of sorts. Its too the point where it HAS to be a gimmick account it's so fucking out there. But, I can't wrap my mind around someone putting so much effort into trolling. Especially when there is a twitter account involved.
Speaking of the twitter account, yes, I took a peek once her first and last name were posted. That shit is just as crazy if not worse! She takes every response from here and converses about it with another whacko as if she is "on the ledge" because of all the shit she catches here.
Oh, her other obsessions include Celine Dion and Titanic, Jordan Knight and NKOTB, and the newly coined "Yauchicorn." It is a new level of craziness we are witnessing folks. I know, I come off as a complete asshole, but I call a spar a spade. This is cringeworthy, along with a lot of other stuff posted here, and I really hope Horowitz and Diamond don't read it. MsPacMan,
You seem like a genuinely sweet person with good intentions, but this suggestion is just ridiculous.
I don't need a say in it. I don't want a say in it, or I would have contributed. It really doesn't bother me that you're doing it. I guess it's just the approach that rubbed me the wrong way.
Just the thread with the mile-long intro and all the rah rah activism tones. Then seeing it in EVERY youtube video I looked at (I realize a lot of these are your vids so post what you want). I think this would have been tolerable but combine it with all the wah wah wah posts from others, the "I love him and miss him so much," and the other shit like the first name usage among users and the "you go girl!!!! I love you girl!!!!" nonsense and it made me just get sick of reading all of it. This whole thing, amongst a group of specific users, just took on a whole "Yeah!!!!! A new movement!!!!!" type of vibe that I didn't think was very Beastie-esque I guess. What the fuck do I know? Who am I to say what should and shouldn't be done? I shouldn't, but I should speak what's on my mind if I feel like it.
In other words, I guess it's not just you, but a combination of a bunch of things that have transpired since Yauch passed.
I apologize for being so forthright and blunt about everything but it is what it is. I know everyone grieves in their own way. I know that some of the people involved in this banter are quite young and view themselves as "super fans." I'm sure they all really dig the Beastie Boys and Yauch's passing was and is something that sucks so very bad.
Sorry to feel the way I feel but about 2 weeks after Yauch passed I was already over all of the constant "whoa is me, Yauch's gone" stuff being posted in every thread. Put it in a sig and let it rest. I personally didn't enjoy the constant, daily reminders that one of my personal heroes is no longer walking the planet. Let the grief turn turn to celebration for the man's life and contributions and try to move on.
Things were getting cooler but this BeastieboysMCA user has just sent me to the point of wanting to stick pencils in my eyes and repeatedly bang my face against a table.
Rant over.

MsPacMan,
I don't need a say in it. I don't want a say in it, or I would have contributed. It really doesn't bother me that you're doing it.
No worries at all!
I only offered because I can imagine that many long-time fans such as yourself may be concerned that I consider myself the spokesperson for the fan community, as it were!
I don’t!
And I make a point of saying that in my letter to Mike and Adam.
I certainly don’t consider myself (or anyone else) a “superfan”. But I understand your point.
I just wanted to give you the opportunity to offer YOUR perspective to them; because I wouldn’t feel that I had been fair to “all” the fans, if I didn’t. If someone feels really strongly that the PWR2MCAers are doing the wrong thing with this project; they have a right to say so (there’s no reason why their voice can’t be represented in the pack I’m sending). Do you know what I mean?
How can I explain? It was never a case of “you’re either with us; or you’re against us”. I have no patience with attitudes like that; and I get the impression you feel the same way. I’m happy for Adam and Mike to know that not ALL the fans think this is a good idea.
I really appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with me, and for the valuable advice you've offered about the project since it started. You really are helping me a lot.
It really doesn't bother me that you're doing it. I guess it's just the approach that rubbed me the wrong way.

Oh my god, pshabi – you have given me a good laugh with that one! You’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself, and what you said about me is SO TRUE! You have totally nailed it; and I’m sure it’s unbearable from your perspective! But y’know; that’s how I roll! I “can’t front on that!”

Mate, seriously. You are gonna have to do a lot better than that to upset me. There is absolutely no need to apologise. You haven’t heard ME apologising for wearing my heart on my sleeve. Of course you should speak your mind. Nobody on this msgbrd has to be here if they don’t want to be. Nobody’s forcing us!
You know; I was gonna end this by saying “let’s agree to disagree” – but y’know? Apart from the one, major, obvious issue…………..we actually agree on a lot of things! :)
Thanks again.

I've held my newbie tongue for long enough.
For the love of everything Holy. Stop feeding into it. She will tire herself out. The only reason it's possible for a few people (amongst the 70,000 plus members) are able to hijack a few threads (in the entire freaking board) is because people participate in it. Utilize your scrollbar. There are really awesome people on this board who possess the patience to deal with this. I am not one. God forgive me because I'm probably going to hell for it. So, I leave it to them.
Also, I'm noticing how easy it is for some to voice displeasure with others for whatever reason they have. (Which I'm not actually faulting. Just my perception.) Yet someone showing genuine care and concern for those we all obviously have an affinity for is deemed deviant. I don't get that.
Sarah, do not for a moment question your efforts. Remember what my Grandma said about showing love.
But, whatever. I love it here. I love the jackasses. The freakin' nut cases. I especially love the stuck up snobs that have apparently been members of the board since prior to the band even starting (see I can be an ass too). I really can't wait to meet you in person. That's gonna be the illest.

I’ll probably get my ass chewed for prolonging this discussion, but I just felt like adding my lousy two cents – for whatever that’s worth.
I also feel uncomfortable with the fact that some fans could participate in the PWR project in order to get closer to AH and MD. But I know that MsPacMan’s intentions for the project were completely altruistic and not intended as a launching pad for tweens (or 40 year olds??) to potentially meet their idols. I was so inspired by her idea, that I created a blog based on the same concept. It’s not a Beastie Boys fan site at all. But it’s something I felt compelled to do to help promote the spirit of compassion and giving in the Yauchest way possible.
My sad, little attempt at making the world a better place (as “rah rah” as that sounds) is at: BittenbyBuddha.blogspot.com (http://www.bittenbybuddha.blogspot.com/)
We’ll never know what prompted AH to choose a particular photo over another to post on the blog. We’ll never know what people’s true intentions are when sending their photos to PWR2MCA. Guess we can only worry about our own actions and intentions.
God – I didn’t mean to get all serious. One of the things I love about this forum is getting my daily dose of sarcasm from all you crazy bastards. Thanks for the chance to vent, grieve, celebrate, laugh, snort (out of laughter . . . not the other stuff), and bond. And thanks for the occasional headache when I get sucked into threads that literally leech the minutes away from my life; but like a gruesome car accident, I can’t look away. Oy.
See some of you in NYC next weekend!
Peace. With a little bit of crazy.

Mike and Adam aren’t going to be looking at this as a Pwr2Mca secret society project. It’s from their fans. I think that’s exactly how they will take it. From the FANS.
And I do understand from some of the other members perspective that the rah rah thing can be annoying. Sometimes us girls can be like that. We run off of a lot of emotions. Some more than others and some more obsessively which I see how that makes people think what the fuck is wrong with her. I lost my pom poms when Adam died so I doubt you’ll see any rah rah from me anymore. But thank you Sarah for being so positive and all that jazz. It helps.
BeastieBoysMCA aka Ashley. I am surprised to see you here. You were warned on other Beastie communities to please stop spamming with comments about how much you love Adam and he is an angel and lord I can’t even remember the rest of the shit you’ve posted. Good GOD GIRL get a GRIP. It doesn’t seem to be connecting. What’s wrong with the connection here? WE all love him, but you’re making a lot of folks uncomfortable.

I've held my newbie tongue for long enough.
I especially love the stuck up snobs that have apparently been members of the board since prior to the band even starting (see I can be an ass too). I really can't wait to meet you in person. That's gonna be the illest.
It takes a certain self-confidence to speak your mind without fear of what others will think or how they will respond. Kudos to you, kudos to me, kudos to the others that have expressed their views over the years with intelligence and a full heart.
MsPacMan's efforts are fine, I don't particularly enjoy the approach and others have voiced the same opinion behind the scenes to me. MsPacMan has received support as well, as evident by your post and I'm surely countless PMs, so I guess it's a split camp here in terms of the whole Rah Rah Activism campaign. I can live with that.
I'm sure the snob reference was directed at me, but I assure you that's not me at all. I just speak from the heart.
Don't worry, I won't be trekking to NYC for the get together so you won't have to look me in the eye. ;)

[SIZE=3][FONT=Calibri] I know that MsPacMan’s intentions for the project were completely altruistic and not intended as a launching pad for tweens (or 40 year olds??) to potentially meet their idols.
I agree, but unfortunately it is has opened up the floodgates for a bunch of behavior that is, IMO, very tacky at the least. Downright fucking WHACKY at the worst!
I'm done on this topic. I don't want to perpetuate it either. Believe me, there have been countless things I've wanted to spout off on over the last few weeks and 99% I've bitten my tongue and let it roll. Eventually, I gotta say something so I do.
And you know what? It's not because I think "I've been here forever, fuck the newbies, blah blah blah." I welcome new fans and when I see someone generally discovering and falling in love with the music, the band, the life style, it makes me happy. I can't front on that, as they say.
It's just that some folks are so stinkin' lame about it!

Aw man. I'm disappointed. You're one of my favorites. The stuck up snob thing really was a joke.
I am very self aware. When I say I'm an ass, it's not just self deprecation. I actually mean it. ;)

This is downright alarming. I hope it's harmless - I mean, with all that's going on in the world right now...
...sweet baby jesus...
I can be a compassionate individual but this screams personality disorder/mental illness. I hope she has the care she needs...

But, whatever. I love it here. I love the jackasses. The freakin' nut cases. I especially love the stuck up snobs that have apparently been members of the board since prior to the band even starting (see I can be an ass too). I really can't wait to meet you in person. That's gonna be the illest.
I agree with all of this...especially the "stop feeding into it" part. Behavior only continues when something is reinforcing it. So if people stop giving the desired consequence (which is apparently ANY direct attention) the behavior will extinguish. Basic B.F. Skinner stuff, but it really works - I see it everyday working with behaviorally challenged kids.
I'm hoping that people stick around and make this place what they want it to be, and "live and let live" as far as the stuff that they don't like (at least insofar as the disagreeable "stuff" isn't hurting anyone else). There are people who are here for different reasons, but the one thing in common is that the vast majority of us are fans, and whether you like to express that here by gushing over the guys, talking about ways to support them, just talking about their music, seeking and sharing articles/albums/videos/collectibles, talking about non-Beastie stuff on the other side of the board, or any combination of those things, I feel like there are like-minded people for every fan to converse with here.
There are pretty much no Beastie fans in my "real" life, so I like checking in here to remember that y'all are out there, fellow people of good musical taste. :)
ETA: I just want to clarify that when I talked about all the different people on this board and reasons for being here, I was referring to people's varying opinions on stuff like PWR2MCA and people's reactions to AH's use of the photo, etc. I wasn't referring to the poster who is in the video that was posted. That is actually worrisome...

That's cool, didnt expect you to. Facts are facts and statements speak for themselves.
Ewh, first of all, I said I wasnt going to get in it with you because I'm being the mature one and staying out of petty bullshit fights online, not because what you said was correct.

Whenever I come here, I find myself gritting my teeth and typing out posts that I wind up deleting. Then I leave and try to stay away because I don't want to say something that will make a teenage girl feel shitty. In short, I've been keeping my mouth shut out of respect for Yauch. And for the many of you who know me, you can appreciate just how difficult it is for me to keep my mouth shut. :o And what mad respect I have for him because it's the only way I've been able to keep quiet.
I'm very pleased to have new fans. There is so much to enjoy with this band and so much to celebrate. I just ask that a very small group remember that this isn't about you. It's so gross when you make it about you.
(I'd have quoted KP's lengthy post because it was beautiful and several other Pshabi posts, but you get the idea. I don't want to continue this either, it was just so nice to see that I'm not alone in my feelings. And to cjhood--only about 2/3rds of the female posters are crazy :p )
Edit: I'm already sort of regretting having posted.

Am I supposed to agree with this? For me, the issue is privacy. It goes both ways, too. It's kind of like the word "tacky:" it can apply both to someone who jams a conversation for attention - someone who intrudes into the private enjoyment of others - and someone who points the finger and laughs at them for it.
Anyway, didn't want to be seen as tacitly supporting the idea that 99% of women on the boards, or anywhere else, are crazy.

Every day I go on the BBMB just to see what's up. And I check it out. I read a few threads, and have a few laughs, and it's great. But you know what the best part of my day is? For about ten seconds, from when I grab my MacBook Pro and when I get to your message board , 'cause I think, maybe I'll click on the link and you won't be there. No goodbye. No see you later. No nothing. You just left. I don't know much, but I know that.

Thats kind of contradicting isnt it?

Well, I think that's a super philosophy... I mean that way you could actually go through the rest of your life without ever really knowing anybody.
