i fumbled upon Original Concept's wiki page last month while f'in around on the net. it said they have a track called 'she had a mustache' with a cameo by MCA. i listened to the track and he wasn't on there...so i listened to a few other trax and didn't hear him. went back on wiki today and now it says it's mike d who does the cameo. their trax are on youtube if you want to listen to them all to see if the cameo exists....

Was going to say, the cameo is Mike D on the singing part...Mustache, she got she got - she got a mustache. Da da da da daaa da da, if I recall the linear notes might even say "on the da da da part"
I could never hear his voice though. Man I loved that cassette, tracked down the cd a few years ago to rip. hasn't quite aged the best but there are 4-5 really good tracks. #1 Legend is the best...closest album to LTI in my opinion.

Thx for the mix by the way; I left work after hearing and came home to reflect alone, I made a playlist very similar to yours and I am very grateful to you for putting up your much more complete and polished version. The speech at the end had me in tears again, and I shed more than my fair share Friday. I've listened to many MANY tribute mixes these past few days and yours is by far my favorite. Most I've been hearing are good, but comprised of hits and very LTI heavy, yours is from the gut...from someone whose entire life is marked by everything Beastie. Like me. And it's so cool to know so many other people hear get it, and truly feel the same way I do.
Sorry probably not best thread to put this in, but I haven't expressed myself yet in any other threads and seeing your name and OC link made me just want to say thanks to, and to the rest of you, it's been my pleasure reading what you've been sharing.
God damn I'm going to miss them...but I am so grateful to have a "band" that I can call my own.

Please let me know what you think after listening. I swear I always took OC as Def Jams attempt to have a "black" Beastie Boys, if you know what I mean. Like 3rd Bass right, Def Jam needed another "white" rap group. I don't know....
Check out 6 Johnny wuza gangster and the led zep sample on 18 Total Confusion.....very VERY LTI'ish.

Wow, thanks my man... I made the mix because I needed to clear my mind and show my gratitude. I'm glad your felt the emotion I was trying to convey ... It is a mixtape made for the BBMB heads and Yauch.
Here (http://www.mixcloud.com/RoughTradeShops/brooklyn-beast_a-tribute-to-mca/) is one that has a bit more of a party vibe... but is so much more representational of the whole septum of the B-Boys sound, then most that have been popping up. I found it to be a noice listen.
