So far Brooklyn and now London has done this. I wonder if anywhere else I might.

I loved the day this came out in the theaters! Bought it when it came out on DVD and still have it on play on the work computer. I always wished they released the audio in a cd. God I am going to miss them live! Teaming up with MMM just made them even that much more of an adrenaline rush! No one can touch the Beasties live!

I wonder if Oscilloscope would consider another one-off satellite broadcast at theaters nationwide to celebrate the life of Adam Yauch.
it would be like one giant designated get together in each city for one last Beastie concert experience. this would be a great way to pay homage to MCA and to allow the fans to hear it and see it on big screens one last time...
Thank you so much for posting this thread b-grrrlie, I've booked tickets and now looking forward to an awesome weekend!
The loss of Adam Yauch is so sad, I always hoped to see the video to Ricky's Theme become a reality. The Beastie Boys have had a large bearing on my life and I'm looking forward to coming together — again — to celebrate Beastie Boys.

Awww you know, it was really great! My husband came with, he's not so into the Beasties but he's a music fan so he got into it. The screening was really early, at 6.45pm, but the atmosphere was great and really celebratory. The guy from the cinema who organised the screening came out and explained why MCA was such a loss to film as well as music, and raffled off the Little White Lies stuff, which was good fun - the person with the winning ticket for the big prize wasn't there so they had to call it again, but the guy came in later having been to the bathroom! It was pretty funny, he had to accept a hug instead of the prize.
I was a bit emotional at the start and didn't know how the crowd would be reacting, but it was lovely when the film began and everyone was clapping and cheering the Boys as they went on, as if it was a real concert. We were all singing along but not getting out of our seats much, due to our British reserve and the earliness of the hour! People were laughing at all the numerous funny bits and cheering all the really enthusiastic fans in the film - goes to show that the Beastie joy is so pervasive that you can't help but have a good time with them even when the chips are down. It really felt like a chance to show appreciation for MCA and applaud him.
There were a few poignant moments too - like when I overheard some girls in the bathroom talking about how there would never be any live shows again - but it was great to be out with other people appreciating the Beasties. I was really surreal when it ended and we had to walk out through a foyer full of people dressed up for the imminent singalong Blues Brothers screening!
Afterwards my husband and I headed over to some birthday drinks at a Brazilian bar, where we toasted MCA for the 1000th time. He really enjoyed the film, especially MMM and his scratching and Money Mark's keyboard stunts. We always have a laugh quoting hip hop lyrics so we basically talked about the Beastie Boys and our trip to NYC last year all night, and it was great.
Still feeling a sense of loss but the screening definitely helped me appreciate the many many good times. For me it's been 18 years or so since I got into them and I only saw them live twice, but they've been a constant. We never saw them lose it or fall out or let us down, which is incredibly rare. I'm trying hard to focus on all the good stuff. Thanks Boys, thanks BBS board! xxx

Thanks Dave.
Aw, today I bumped into a guy at work who saw me at the screening. We had a good chinwag about the crying shame of it all. He went to karaoke afterwards where he performed many beastie jams. Beastie love breaking out all over town!
