THE FIRST WEEK IS OVER
Thankyou to everyone in Beastie Nation for your support this week. I can’t count how many personal messages I have received; encouraging me to continue PWR2MCA as a tribute to Yauch. I can tell you honestly that every single one of those messages meant just as much to me as the acknowledgement of our efforts from Mr Adam Horovitz himself (on the Beastie blog). I am proud to stand together with all of you and I want to thank y’all for having my back.
Last night (Sydney time) Public Enemy played a show in my city and although I knew it would be overwhelmingly poignant for me; I decided to go. It turned out to be exactly where I needed to be. It was really the perfect way to release some of the emotion of the past seven days. Chuck and Flav dedicated the show to Yauch; and talked about him (and the boys) the entire night. In fact; I was at the show during the EXACT moment that marked ONE WEEK since Yauch’s death. It was a profoundly moving experience to be surrounded by members of the hip hop family during that moment. We literally held on to each other for support. I hope Chuck and Flav know how much it meant to us to be able to unite as a group and express our grief collectively.
At the very beginning of the show; Flav gave us a moment to just let it allllllllllllll out; and I managed to video it for y’all. I wish you had all been there with us.

Thankyou again to all the people who have contributed to PWR2MCA; and to those who have chosen to support my PWR2BEASTIES idea. It’s not too late to get involved! After Adrock’s public acknowledgment of what we’d done so far; I don’t have any hesitation about continuing the great work we’ve been doing. It’s really the only encouragement we should need.

A lot of people have contacted me to say that looking at our Facebook page has brought them joy and given them hope during this awful time. It’s touching that people are so keen to do something positive to commemorate the life of a truly great man. The support he is getting from his fans has really uplifted me.
