Ive had friends over the years that said they have gotten sick and even worse, gotten cancer while living, working and frolicing in nyc, manhattan to be exact. we had another death in the music world recently, donna summers. there was a quote that she had said that her cancer came from the toxic air she breathed in while living in nyc.
now my question is, does anyone think that MCAs cancer had anything to do with the toxic fumes as well? Im not trying to throw theories out there but from what we know, Adam lead a very strict diet and Im sure he was very cautious with what he ate. do you think it might have been caused from 9/11?

You know...that's a theory someone should look into.
Donna Summer just passed of lung cancer and she in the past had stated that she believed she got it from the 9/11 exposure. Of course, I don't know what her lifestyle was.
Adam's cancer was so rare and from what I read caused mostly by asbestos exposure, so what you are saying makes a lot of sense.

Do you have a link to this article about MCA?
I've been lead to believe asbestos causes lung cancer and mesothelioma.

asbestos does lead to lung cancer. my ex-friend (the guy i tried suing in peoples court) gave me a detailed story about asbestos poisoning. he said it could take just one particle in your lungs and it could stay there for years until it eventually spreads into cancer. onces its in there, its impossible to get out. I used to do construction and the old asbestos shingles, when broken, become "airborne" and thats when it can be inhaled. sadly, i never knew this when i did construction.

i understand about the threat of asbestos as i am an electrician.
I also believe that the air in NYC was extremely contaminated, and believe me when i say i am looking for answers or an excuse to blame someone or something
I have just never read or heard about asbestos causing throat cancer,

my mother worked in a "sweat shop" for years (she was a seemstress) and I saw all the debris she enhaled on a daily basis. I was too young to understand but 15 years later, when she was diagnosed with cancer, I soon saw the connections. my mother's body was stricken with cancer so badly that they couldnt even find where it had started but she did not have lung cancer.

thanks. I wish the doctor she originally visited was still alive when she was sick because Im sure he would have spotted the illness quicker, rather than these new, younger doctors that just seem to want your money and get you out of thier offices asap.

after 9/11, so many things went through my head. one of them was knowing that the debris floating around was indeed toxic. how do you think people would have responded if the mayor said "yes, the air is toxic." you would see half the city evacuate, and perhaps never come back. the city knew this.
I also knew that the victims that were missing, were in fact, scattered all throughout the city. the poor souls that perished in the fires and when the buildings collapsed, having thier bodies turn to ashes and the wind blowing thier remains all over until being discovered on rooftops years later. I knew of this right after the horrific attacks. it took the city what, 8 or 9 years later to find remains on the rooftops of neighboring buildings?

the city has to take responsibility but they refuse to. they werent responsible for the attacks but they should take responsibility for all the people that had become sick and died after the attacks but letting people know that they were perfectly safe in nyc and the air quality was 100% safe.

Hi,
I have so much I can say about this as someone who was there at the time, witnessed the first plane crash, volunteered with the Red Cross for over two months just four blocks north of the site and am today living with multiple consequences from multiple aspects of what I experienced. My life forced me to learn a great deal on this subject, both health related and about the politics surrounding the event itself including the current denial by the federal government of illnesses clearly connected to toxic exposure. For reasons I don't understand about myself I have terrible emotional issues when it comes to involving myself in politics. I realize on this subject I need to get over myself but I haven't been able to. The most I'm able to do is inform others of what I know and hope they can take actions regarding the political aspects. I've chosen to focus my efforts on the health issues alone as that's something I'm able to do and I feel I can do it well. I have an education in Biology and am able to understand research studies published in scientific journals on a level I was not capable of before my education and my continual efforts at self-education.
I'm tired now but want to give my full attention to this important topic so I will write more later because I feel that there are things I can contribute to this conversation based on what I've lived and the research I've done.
For now I'd like to share about a Facebook page I created called "WTC Resource Project (http://on.fb.me/WTC-Resource-Project)" (http://on.fb.me/WTC-Resource-Project). I created this page last year but haven't had the health or funds to advertise for it. On it I have posted links to health resources. It needs more fans who then implore their friends to become fans to generate more page activity so it will show up higher in the search engine rankings helping those in need to more easily find information that can help them.
Here's what's said in the "About" section: "This page is for health education about WTC illnesses, outreach to those who are in need of available services along with encouraging those exposed who are still healthy to join the monitoring program for early detection of illnesses."
If you decide you'd like to help promote this page by doing what's suggested in the top post it would be sooooo amazingly appreciated!!!
Best,
Candice
PS -- The "JC" at the end of my username here are my initials and have nothing to do with anything religious.
PPS -- Some things I read in this thread were referred to as problems at the city level, that's not the case, the information that some spoke of came from the EPA and the city was forced to comply. I'll write more on this type of stuff when I'm feeling better...
PPPS -- I'm admining with others another Facebook page, this one is Beastie Boys related about a unique tribute for MCA called "Intergalactic Brass Monkey (http://on.fb.me/Intergalactic-MCA-Memorial)" (http://on.fb.me/Intergalactic-MCA-Memorial)
Here's the "About" description: "RIP MCA -- INTERGALACTIC BRASS MONKEY POUR FOR OUR HOMIE -- IBMPFOH -- Saturday, August 4th, at 8:00 PM in your local time zone. Where's the event? Wherever you have it! Film & take pics of your gathering then share with us to create a memorial page."
