As we were writing up the idea for this unexpectedly a kinda rant manifested itself, here it is...
Time to get serious: We must ask you to drink responsibly, meaning not passing out drunk, don't lapse into a coma from alcohol poisoning, and definitely, definitely don't drive or any other stupid thing you can think of that people do when they've had too much booze. We are suggesting sipping one dr...ink only, half of one for the math impaired. We understand that your event may turn into a commemorative party so please don't do anything to add a tragedy upon a tragedy. Please. Celebrate his life as you mourn his death with some things to keep in mind before you decide to drive drunk... He has a widow and a daughter who will grow up the rest of her life without her father; his parents are living through the worst nightmare of any parent, dealing with their child predeceasing them; his band-mates who shared a bond beyond brotherhood are now missing a link in their chain; all those close to him are facing the funeral of someone they deservingly love deeply. Enough is enough on the bad shit happening to good people for no damn reason. We beg that you do not turn yourself into a reason for something bad happening. If you don't think you can handle the sauce without opening the door to that possibility then stick with the orange juice. If you're not clear about the damages one can cause by excessive drinking get some fucking professional help, if not for you for everyone who has to cross your drunken path. Not meant to become a rant, but whatever, it did, it's over, we're leaving it in and moving on.
