Ok, so I have no clue what that song means or what the lyrics are but I love it! And this post probably doesn't fit in but I feel in all this sadness that's on the boards we needed a little injection of fun. Just like the B Boys injected in all their songs. So I really hope this song was meant to be fun and didn't have some secret meaning. I really miss Yauch! All day, every day! But when I hear their fun, crazy lyrics it makes me smile! :)

P.S. I've called my son Minnie the Moocher b/c he always comes up to us when we are eating (even if he has just eaten) and wants to eat what we are eating (he's 1) and I heard that name in this song. So I love it even more now!! :)

A couple of years ago I was driving around campus with one of my best friends and blasting CYH. We got to the line about Keyboard Money Mark, and my friend started laughing and was like, "Did they just say 'he'll build you a cabinet'?" When I confirmed that they did indeed say that he just couldn't stop laughing at it.

In response to PETA's recent campaign, Adam Yauch wrote the following letter...

"Wow, Shit gets hectic quick. Sign a petition in an airport and next thing you know you’re a poster-boy. This shit needs some straightening out.

For the record, we did not draft this letter. Basically it went down like this; a lady was walking around an airport in Australia asking people to sign something. When she approached me I thought (and I assume that Adam and Mike did as well) that it was a petition that she was getting as many signatures on as she could. So I signed it thinking that I might be able to help out with stopping some unnecessary suffering of some birds. But I thought that my name would appear in conjunction with thousands of others.

By the look of the letter that PETA sent out, they must have scanned our signatures, photo shopped them neatly in order and then added our names typed in, so that it would look like we drafted and sent the letter ourselves.

And from all the news hits they got on this, they must have sent it out to every news outlet they could get a hold of.

I can’t watch it... :/ but I know which one it is. I think the one with Adrock on the couch playing with the kids right? MCA is in the kitchen helping out. Ugh I hate the fact that they’ll never get another moment like that with him. Just still fucking sucks. I was switching on my IPOD this morning in my car and accidently clicked on the radio and NO SLEEP was on right when Adam begins his line “they call me Adam Yauch”…. I totally lost it.

That is the one. I feel so sad that you are so sad. I wish there were some magic words to make you feel better. You seem like a very sensitive and caring guy- like Adam was. I think when you first lose someone all you can feel is that big whole in the world and in your heart. Time really does help that. It is good though that you are getting it out and you have a place to share your feelings to others who care and that are feeling the same way. I find that listening to their music on my iPod or hearing them on the radio makes me very sad but when I watch them in videos and actually see them together having such a good time, that makes me happy. Like people have said, grief Comes in all different stages. But getting your feelings out, no matter what they would be at that moment, is gotta be good. :)

HAHA I am a girl! But yes I am sensitive and I'd like to say I am CARING like Adam was. Trust me time has helped. The first few weeks I wasn't able to concentrate on anything, but now I have been getting back into my daily routine. It's just when things pop up unexpectedly that i don't like. Like I finally listened to two Beastie songs but I had prepared myself for it. I just like to be in control.

It's strange. I can read the articles and look at the photos but watching them perform is still too emotional for me because I am not thinking about the performance, I am thinking about the fact that he's not here with them. :/
