Around 2003/4 there was talk of a 'Vault' section of the site that would contain unreleased tracks and other tasty treats for us to peep.

Does anyone else think this could be a good time to actually do this now?

one of my favorite features of an old layout was when they color coded the lyrics by beastie boy. it was really detailed for every song and I would like to see a return to something like that. I wonder if the website will take more of a retrospective approach now that the band is going in a different direction.

i look forward to any changes, or understand if none are also made.

I know things were put aside for Adam's health but if they ever updated the site to a more HSC2 friendly layout, this design would go greatly with the Mike Mills artwork and color schematic on the album cover and FFYRR photo booklet.

Are we talking about the Beastiemania or official site?

It was going to be on the official site. I think it would be cool if they did like a 2 disc set with a bunch of that live/remixed/unreleased stuff and include with it a dl code to access the entire vault. Hell they could even title it "The Vault." Proceeds could go to milarepa or cancer research. Just a thought.

Man, I've been asking about the vault for eight years. Draw up the agreements!

Talked about the vault with a friend the other day, and it made me feel guilty.. Like I shouldn't even be thinking about it so soon. But it has actually been on my mind for years..

Too soon. I would like some time to pass.

People do not need to feel guilty about wanting to hear everything that exists. We have been dreaming of unreleased material since the "White House" album. The guilt is natural. I get it because I have had guilt over what I should have done before Adam died, but take a step back and recognize that if you have searched daily for any smidgen of new or unreleased material for 25 years then it doesn't make sense to feel guilt about wanting to hear more now. There have been quite a number of times over the years that you and I have called / emailed and said "OH SHIT, have you heard [fill in the blank] yet. We don't love him any less for still hoping to cling to some sense of normalcy (i.e. our daily routine, our love for rare or previously unheard material). It might be disrespectful to post shit saying what they SHOULD be releasing (but even then I don't think so if people are coming from the right place), but it is clearly not disrespectful to hope that they will crack open the vault. It is what many of us have been dreaming of for 25 years.

My guess is that Adam would not have wanted the things in life that bring you joy to die with him.

BFL, preach the truth but at the same time I feel silence. I don't wanna be pushy or greedy, but I can't hide my impatience haha
