Just passing more love along

thanks for everything guys, and thanks to the catalyst, our man Yauch. for all those years and the years and years of good music coming. both new and revisited. Timeless.

Never to0 early to tune the kids in and turn them on. My 9 year old daughterconfided to me a couple days ago in the car that the Beastie Boys are herfavorite band. Spend today downloading all the Boy's Jams from my comp. to herRCA mp3 (it has a radio on it) she doesn't like ipods. good grrrl.

my 6 year old boy freaks out when I play the Intergalactic video. Now allthe neighbors sign the chorus in robot voices.

these thoughts I know I'm not alone in. Just wanted to take a moment and saythanks, again. for all of it.

many of us took MCA for granted during his life. so keep that in mind aboutothers who inspire you or give you love and help you. make sure you make themost of them while they are here.

I've been trying very hard the last few years to be more positive, helppeople more, be more compassionate. I hate to say it, but this man passing hasfinally broken down those final barriers to understanding what is important andhow our every word and action effects everything around us.

When people just started compiling testimony after testimony, fact after fact and story after story about Yauch's heart, compassion and sense of duty... I've realized that I somewhat took him for granted too. I guess I can just chalk that up to too many self-glorifying celebs doing something nice but with an ulterior motive behind it, and feeling jaded because of that. I'd say that at this point however that the evidence is irrefutable, that Yauch was the real deal and walked the talk.

Something Adrock said during MCA day really put things into perspective, that he felt that people could feel the friendship in their music and identified with it. And that's true, when I think of Beastie Boys I think of comradery, having fun and not to mention phat beats and flows... but I think that what has kept me interested in the Beastie Boys most of all through the years has been the LOVE in their music, the social consciousness and advocacy for peace, equality and justice. The realness that was there. And I've just recently recognized that being able to identify with that and feel it in my heart, and love that -- it speaks volumes as to who I am as a person, and what my values are. It speaks volumes about ALL of us fans of this group.

I'm proud to be a fan of the Beastie Boys. And I like a bunch of different music, but none leaves me filled with pride more than the work of the Beastie Boys.
