I personally do not like any hot dogs that are made at home (oscar meyer, ball park, etc) Only portillos hot dogs or like rosatis (pizza place).

Portillos serves vienna beef hot dogs and theyre amazing. With the poppy seed buns.


As for not letting them get split, poke holes along it with a fork by poking it twice then wrap it in a paper towel then put it in the shitrowave.

We used to call microwaving hot dogs "zap-a-weenie". They were a cheap, easy make in high school & college.

I dig them grilled with a bit of char on them personally, but split fried with chili, onions and cole slaw is good, too. It's the southern way of making them.

If you're nukin' them, wrap them in wax paper and don't do them as long. They shouldn't split then.


Then for extra style, add a little mustard, hot sauce and mac n' cheese. Delicious.

I used to do that, put hotdogs in a bun, wrap them in a paper towel and microwave them for like a minute and a half. Amazing how soon you can be eating something. There came a time where age and money changed the way I cook hotdogs.

I only eat chili dogs now. Grilled, it's cool to split them if you grill them, but i don't. Homemade chili (almost always w/o beans) is very popular where I work. "Chili Dogs" with diced onions and sharp cheddar on a high quality bun happens monthly.

The hot dogs are awesome and the chili has sneaky heat, it tastes so good that you scarf it down before you realize there is a steady creeping fire and beads of sweat are starting to form on your head.

Second choice is Slims Last Chance Chili Shack & Watering Hole (http://slimslastchance.com/) here in Seattle, they have the Chili Cheese Kobe Dog: snake river farms grilled kobe beef hot dog covered with Texas Red Chili and Cheese. Which is damn fine.

i doubt it, am wondering if its different accross the pond, maybe a different cheese. just not a fan of cheese sauce really. I'd rather eat macARONI and cheese than cauliflower cheese.
