View Full Version : What Beastie Covers and Tributes are pooping up in your town?

Here in Denver we have quite a few:
-Local band MTHDS is doing Beastie Boys cover band shows.
-Pulse Music Fest is bringing in Mix Master Mike to do a MCA tribute set.
-Westword Music Showcase is bringing in Karl Denson (w/ members of Slightly Stupid) to do their Beastie Boys cover set.
-School of Rock will be playing Beastie Boys covers before a screening of AIFST at Red Rocks :D.

Of course I will check out all of this... and of course it will pale in comparison to all the times I saw the B-Boys live. But at least my summer will be spent with peeps who love the Beastie Boys!

I just wish my five year-old daughter and newborn son could have seen them live... damn (who am I kidding, Beastie Boys cover bands suck)

Oh my gawd! I was typing fast and did not mean to type pooping!?! I was trying to say popping!!! Hate that you can't self delete or all the way edit on this board, since I always fuck something up :mad:

Oh well, I guess it was subliminal since Beastie cover bands are poop, right?:D

Ive been looking around here in the ft lauderdale/miami area and I havent seen anything,if anyone hears about anything let me know or let me know where i can look for it,thanks.

The local high school paper did a piece on MCA. It was great to see that some in the younger generation still appreciate the sheer awesomeness of MCA and the Beastie Boys.

Also, on June 4th I posted on the local radio station about it being a month since his passing and I was thrilled when they played "Hey Ladies". Another poster said that they should do another "Beastie Hour" like they did on May 4th and the DJ agreed. It's in the planning stages, but there may be a Beasties Hour on Saturdays here in Watertown.:)
