Serenity attained...For us to live any other way was nuts. To us those goody-good people who worked shitty jobs for bum paychecks and took the subway to work and worried about bills, were dead. They were suckers. They had no balls. If we wanted something, we just took it... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Hill)

on the special edition of the goodfellas DVD, there's a special commentary track with henry hill and the FBI agent who got him into witness protection.

it's really interesting--in the movie, you get the feeling that a part of him will always the miss the gangster lifestyle, but in the commentary he couldn't be happier to be out. he keeps saying stuff like "god bless the US government for getting me out, i can't believe i was ever a gangster, i was a dumb kid who got caught up in it"

in the part where they find out tommy got killed, he says something like "i was relieved when i found out, that guy was nuts"

i suggest you listen to it, it's worth it

He hung out up here in the NW for quite a few years and was pretty much a notorious alcoholic always preceded, accompanied and kept by federal agents everywhere he went.

He liked to go out and he openly talked about his shit.

I've heard some pretty funny/pathetic stories of him showing up "on his lips" in various bars all over the NW. I could not imagine living with even 10% of what was portrayed of Henry Hill in Goodfellas, I would be medicating too.

Sad about Henry Hill. Can't wait to read the obituary tomorrow once I get the papers, get the papers.

Really wish I wrote that joke, I stole it from Patton Oswalt's twitter feed

And I'd do it again

He's been on Stern quite a few times. What a fucking mess.

he had a wonderful system for doing the garlic.

He used a razor, and he would slice it so thin it would liquify in the pan with just a little oil...
