Very funny interview! looking at lots of old interviews on youtube this past few weeks and noticing how their humour was so surreal. They were surrealists every time. I love how Yauch starts it in this clip by saying that the designer from Comme de Garcons stands across the street from his house waiting to photograph what he is wearing every morning when he leaves the house :p, and the other two pick up and expand on that until Mike D has Ralph Lauren on a horse in his closet checking out his style!! :D:cool: Comedy gold!!:D

I googled the lady interviewer Jackie Farry as i had never heard of her before. She is one of those women who remind me of Courtney Love, the way she gets on all bossy and rock n roll. Anyway, it turns out she got cancer in 2004 and has been having a terrible time as she had no medical insurance. She has a website with 'fuck cancer' beanie hats for sale.

they always remind me of the way Bob Dylan used to dodge dumb questions when he was being interviewed in the 60's.

if you've seen DA Pennebaker's 'Dont Look Back' or Scorsese's 'No Direction Home', he has the same playful style where he twists the question back on the reporter, while at the same time refusing to accept the labels that culture has put upon him, ie "the voice of a generation" etc...

They had at least some input on that episode because they picked the videos. It's entirely possible they picked some of the cut scenes too. Although that was the style of all of the Superock episides, if I remember right. All the videos are cut from that clip but you can see they played Nine "Whatchawant" that was later sampled in Hello Nasty on "Shame in Your Game".

I looked on the NBC website and it's not there anymore. That was right before MCA's diagnosis, and I remember Triumph was getting on them about their age, and one of the jokes was, "you've gone from Check Your Head, to Check Your Prostate." :D At the time, it was funny, but in retrospect, it's kind of sad.

There’s one where MCA throws water in the inteviewer’s face. It’s so funny because the dude pop out of a box and it scares him. The whole interview was strange but I love it.

My other favorite is when they bring up eating in the studio and MCA says “there is breaking the rules and there is BREAKING the rules!!!!!!!!” MIKE D jumps up and threatens to leave because he knows he’s the target again. I even made a gif out of it because it was so funny.

And then the pretty fangirl interviewer and the boys telling her how to ask for a slice of pizza while you’re in New York.

Andpop is probably my favorite though. Him Mike D will never learn!!!!!!!!

Good observation about the Nine song. That and the Diabolik references show that the seeds of Hello Nasty were being planted
