but never seen it. Until now. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUDcxBIckSA) Not great quality, but still.
I remember reading he did a similar thing in 96. Maybe for Yoko Ono?

Wow, that's cool. Thanks for posting! Shame that it's not great quality and that you don't see more of Yauch, but you can hear him!
I remember a clip of him at an awards ceremony where he says "I just wanna apologise to David Bowie, he was mad at me for cc-ing him in on an email with lots of other people...". The idea of Bowie mad at Yauch made me grin!
This is a great performance with a bunch of diverse and interesting players - Bowie, Yauch, Philip Glass, Kronos Quartet, Tony Visconti... what a line up!
I've never seen Bowie live and I really hope he tours again, but I keep hearing rumours that he's not well :(

That was awesome! Most propably cameras weren't allowed at the venue, that's why the filming was done behind peoples heads. I've been a huge Bowie-fan since pre-teens and luckily have seen him live several times. He has had trouble with his heart and his been out of public for years now. I hope he's alright tho, I couldn't take another of my heroes passing away....

Yeah I really hope he is OK too. Can't believe I've never managed to catch him live.
Apologies, this is totally off topic for the Beastie board but while we're on Bowie... we have this nature TV show called Springwatch in the UK hosted by the amazing nature geek / huge music fan Chris Packham. A few years ago people caught on that he kept dropping song titles into the show, choosing a different band each Spring... he's done the Cure, the Smiths, the Manic Street Preachers and now Bowie!

Hehehe, I love him!
Sorry for the tangent.

WOW!!!
Thanks for posting this.
Been a HUGE Bowie fan since late 70's. I remember waiting 2 nights in line to buy tix to concerts ---pre days of internet sales ;-) (and wrist bands)
Went from being an obsessed Bowie fan to an obsessed Yauch fan.
Two fabulous musicians.
This was great to watch.

This is what scares me. I didn’t know Donna Summer had been suffering from cancer all this time and so her death was a shock to me. I guess I can see how some people were shocked about Adam. I wasn’t shocked about Adam, just didn’t think it would happen so soon. I thought he might live with it for much longer. But what kind of life is that? I am just being selfish saying that. Anyway I hope Bowie is ok. Had no clue he was in bad health. That makes me sad!

wow had no clue!
never thought bowie would make it longer than adam because of the older age of course but also cause he had a real wild life for several years.. then again i dont think bowie is human anyway!
said it before but just a day before i was about to see bowie for the first time live he started getting those heart pains/problems, so close! but guess aliens got heart troubles too

It's been some years that this rumour is flying around :(
At some point It was even said that he was close to death (!)
Fortunately It wasn't true...
spreading false rumours is so easy with internet and all.. I hope that's the case and that he is ok

I, actually, am not stunned by the fact that Bowie and Yauch rocked together (unexpected, but not surprising at all), but by the fact that MCA WAS ON ONE STAGE WITH THE FREAKIN' PHILLIP GLASS! :O
Man, they are both such inspirations for me! I can't believe they shared the stage, playing tracks and stuff.
Amazing.

Very awesome! I have the Playbill handbook thing from this event that has a short write up/bio on Yauch and always wondered what this event looked/felt/sounded like.
Thank you to whoever posted this!

This is amazing, huge Bowie fan as well as Yauch and Beasties. So cool to know my favourite artists have performed together in concert.

Thank you, this is awesome!
I remember listening to Ziggy Stardust over and over, practically wearing out my cassette player. I hope Bowie is ok and is just taking good care of himself.

This is the rehearsal for this concert. You can see Adam really good :) it's short and he is right behind Bowie.
