Right, so here it goes. I'm new here, I've been reading for a few weeks so it's nice to meet you all.
I really want to talk to you about was an idea I had last night. I was really impressed with you guys and your efforts to get MCA on the cover of Rolling Stone. I finally got a copy here in Ireland and intend to get another to frame and hang on my wall. Similarly, I'd like to see another tribute for him in the media. Futurama returned to US screens last week for its 7th season. As you all know the boys were in an early episode "Hell Is Other Robots." Yauch didn't actually voice himself in the episode as he was unavailable so Ad-rock did it but as along time fan of the show I'd really love to see this happen anyway. I was wondering if it would be too much to ask if we could get in touch with the show's creators and ask the to put a small tribute to him before or after the ending credits of an episode? Just a small card with his cartoon picture saying "Dedicated to the memory of Adam MCA Yauch 1964-2012" or something along those lines. This would be similar to a Simpsons episode ("Trash Of The Titans") that ended with a dedication to Linda McCartney after she had appeared in an earlier episode (Lisa the Vegetarian). Futurama has also due something similar in the past so it's not unprecedented, with a tribute to Gary Gygax (creator of the Dungeons & Dragons board game) at the end of the "Bender's Game" film after he had appeared in an episode. The creators of the show are supposedly big Beastie Boys fans so I guess this idea isn't an impossible task. Just a thought, I think it would be really cool if we could "make it happen!" :)
So what I propose is that we start sending e-mails to Comedy Central here: mail@comedycentral.com send programming feedback to them here: http://www.comedycentral.com/help/programming-feedback and of course we can all use the twitter and facebook pages of Comedy Central and Futurama to spread the word. I'd really love your help in getting this noticed and hey, maybe in a few weeks it will come to fruition, maybe not, but at least we can try. Maybe they already have something planned, who knows?
Also a big shout out to Ms. Pacman and the PWR2MCA campaign, love and respect to the end for what Sarah is doing!
Just a thought, I think it would be really cool if we could "make it happen!" So what do you guys think? :)
