Yep....less than a month....I don't know the last time I was so stressed. And her stressed is 10 times mine. Not to mention to whole "Her mother-in-law wants to control everything" bit. Anyone else lose their mind during this process? And how did you grooms calm down on the big day? I've heard everything from tokin' to tranquilizers :)

That being said....I can't wait to be married....she's the most incredible woman I've ever had the pleasure of knowing...I just don't see why we can't go down to the courthouse and make it quick! Haha....

Best wishes to you and the lucky lady (:
Idk anything about marriage because I am so young but I'm sure she would thrilled to read those wonderful words. They made ME smile cause it's so sweet!
Stress now yes I'm sure, lifetime of love and happiness outweighing the current temporary stress? Without a doubt.

You know will happen too is that on the day, it will all go by in a blur and all this time of planning and stressing will be like, huh?

Try to relax and remember, everything is going to be fine and happen just the way it's meant to. And that even if it doesn't it doesn't actually matter that much.

I remember about 2 days before my wedding, the organizer for the charter boat (we got married on one of those 'cruise around NY harbor' boats) called me and was all grave and serious and told me she had some bad news and hoped I wouldn't be too upset. And I was like "oh god what is it?" Turns out that the problem was, they wouldn't have the lavender colored napkins I'd chosen available, and would pale pink or cream be OK. And I started laughing and I was like "Napkins? Seriously, who cares about napkins?" and the woman said "Well you know, it does mean the napkins won't match the icing trim on the cake or the flower girls' dress." Some people really care a lot about that kind of shit, I guess. But honestly if something like napkin color can potentially ruin the whole day for a person, wtf. Who could be married to someone like that?

A man is incomplete until he is married. Then he is finished:D

Just kidding.....I think:confused:
Congrats and enjoy the moment. My wedding was one of the best days of my life. Just enjoy your hard work on the big day and let everything slide off your back like water off a duck's back. It is all about hanging with the woman you love and all the people you care about in your life. Be the life of the party my man!

I am coming up on 12 years of marriage in September.

^us too! 13 yrs married; 22 years together(!)

our wedding was super chilled as it involved just us :D

we went to the other side of the world to escape the stress (and mother-in-law pressure, gah!), had parties on our return.

Anyway, congrats to you. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic day. I imagine it's like the stress of a dinner party x1000.

Enjoy tho, it'll be swell:cool:

Everyone was pissed at me because I was 100% resistant to doing anything elaborate and expensive since we planned on paying for almost everything ourselves. Only thing we didn't pay for was the open bar because my father in-law said he wanted to take care of that. I was like the anti-bridezilla.

We should rent gold tableclothes and matching dinner-ware!
Nope fuck it, the white paper ones provided by the hall and they old dinner-ware they have are good enough

Do you want to travel to the coast and look at wedding dresses at all the boutiques there!??
Nope, getting mine off the internet and I only want to spent around 100 bucks.

How many bridesmaids are you having? What color are their dresses going to be?
one, and she can wear anything she wants.

Are you hiring a band? DJ?
Nope, setting up my own hand-picked playlists on itunes and hitting play.

etc. etc.

Even though we saved tons of money, we still couldn't get away from our family who was stressing their balls off over everything regardless. Weddings are the WORST thing to plan ever.
But, we had a blast on the day of and have absolutely no regrets and zero wedding induced debt!

Things are getting so much more stressful....we're both really ready for the big day to get here already. It's mostly money issues. We're paying for virtually the entire wedding ourselves, which is rough for two broke kids like us.

Plus she has a HUGE family and they're all in Alaska. Only one sister can make it down....and her mother won't even make the trip. Of her whole family, that's the person she wants there the most. Her mom is a pretty cold and uncaring person, and just won't come down. She even has the funds too. At this point I'd be totally content never meeting the woman.

Plus we can't figure out if we can afford a honeymoon, and if so, where to go.

17 days.....oh lawd.....

At some point of the day, in between all the hugs & kisses from family & friends, and all the flashes from the photographers' camera, try to remember take a minute with your new wife and step back from it all and soak it all in together.
Everything goes by in a blink. The moment you take for yourselves will be a nice memory of the day.

we took ten minutes right after the ceremony to run upstairs and nuzzle on the couch and go OMG WE'RE MARRIED, then come downstairs and take photos. i'm so glad we did that.

weddings are a nightmare, enjoy the day and let go and relax when it's here, then do NOTHING the next day (y)

Thanks mang! Speaking of....what if I'm too damn tired for sexy time on the wedding night?! I've actually heard from a lot of couple that not much sex was had on the honey moon just because they're so damn exhausted from the wedding.

Yeah most people I've ever talked to about this have said they did not have sex on the wedding night. Too tired, sometimes too drunk, just happy to be together, cuddle up and fall asleep really. You've got the whole rest of your life together for sexy-time, don't put pressure on yourselves to have some sort of uber-fabulous boink just because it's your wedding night. If you are both feeling up for it then great go for it, but if not don't sweat it.

Here's what I remember most about my wedding night, after coming back to the hotel after the big do: mr.peachy passed out the wrong way across the bed in his tux and snoring, and me in the bathroom trying to figure out how to get my contact lenses out, as I'd had a big fancy manicure that day where they put looong tips on my otherwise stubby nails. So I had to work out - in my semi drunken, exhausted state - how to get the damn lenses out of my eyes without simultaneously gouging out half of my own eyeball. HOT.
