And my absolute favorite is

http://i49.tinypic.com/r9h508.jpg

I like mainly dark beer with a lot of richness to it, a lot of flavor.. I can't stand budlight, coors and all of those water-down tasting beers.

Drank this the other night, was DELICIOUS. From New Zealand

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/mikizee/8d870155.jpg

Hopefully thus beer I brewed last week will be tasty, its fermenting now. A relatively simple pale ale

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/mikizee/bb7f137a.jpg

Went to the Lobethal Bierhaus in the hills a few weekends back, they brew some mighty fine beers. Here's our tasting paddles

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/mikizee/58ec16f9.jpg

My favourite beer of the year so far-

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/mikizee/a8ec0b38.jpg

And this beer is pretty good too (also from New Zealand)

We're running:
Angry Orchard Cider (worth a try if you see it)
Ommegang Hennepin Saison (Awesome)
Lienenkugel's Summer Shandy (crowd pleaser)
Heavy Seas' Loose Cannon 2xIPA (Awesome)
Palm Belgian Amber (my go to beer)
Sam Adams Summer Ale (crowd pleaser)

If you try anything, go for the Ommegang. One of the best Saison's available IMO.

Also I'm a big Dogfish Head fan.
Midas Touch is by far my favorite offering of theirs. I HIGHLY reccommend you try it if you see it.

90minute IPA is also one of my favs
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v304/RobMoney004/90min.jpg

Magic Hat's summer offering this year is surprisingly good too, Elder Betty

Guinness is notorious for not travelling well. Guinness in Dublin is amazing. Guinness over this way... and I guess yours... not so much.

Always a good choice, although I'm always a bit put off by the fact it contains quite a few artificial flavourings.

Sadly, neither are available in my state. New Belgium should be arriving within a few years, though. They've purchased a brewery in Ashville, NC I believe.

I'm trying to get my hands on some Westvleteren 12, considered to be both the rarest and best beer in the world. If you haven't heard of it, google it. Amazing story behind it. In short it's made by Trappist monks, and they only make enough of it to cover costs of their monastery. Production levels have been unchanged since 1946. Despite immense demand the monks have zero interest in making more.

The only way to get it is to call a number, find out when the next batch will be available, then call up again and book a case.

On the appropriate time and day you turn up at the monastery door (in Belgium) they check off your ID and licence plate and you get one case only. Max of 1 per month.

Although a few months back they sent some to the US to be sold to raise money for renovations at their monastery. Some of these are popping up on eBay. Shits hella expensive though. My friends and I were thinking about all chipping in to buy some.

Yeah, but can you smoke a J and then drink like 10-12 Guinesses? Hell nah. Domestic light beer has it's place dammit!!!!

On the Coopers Brewery tip..

One of Australia's, nay, THE WORLD'S, best stouts. Same recipe since 1862. Fucking delicious. Like a nice warm hug. Drink a longneck of this and you'll have the best sleep in years, and wake up feeling on top of the world.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/mikizee/1c4f49ac.jpg

They also release a 7.5% ABV limited release Vintage Ale every year. Compared the 2011 that I had cellared with a new 2012 last night. The 2011 had matured oh so nicely. Don't care for the new bottle/labelling though.

Tonight was another Belgian Trappist beer, the Rochefort 10. Considered by some to be as good as/even better than the Westvleteren 12.

Not bad, not bad. Very sweet though. At 11.3% I guess that's not entirely unexpected.

Drinking a Mountain Goat Cross Breed Seedy Goat Coffee IPA.

Not bad, Mountain Goat is definitely one of the better Aussie craft beer brands.

Every season they do a different Cross Breed where they collaborate with an outsider. This time it was a coffee dude

Back in the early eighties when I lived in London people (goths mainly) drank "lager and black" which was, as is in this bottle, lager and blackcurrant. Joolz (a female goth poet) made a great ironic song about goths at the time where she mentions the girl in question drinking lager and black, pronouncing "black" in most enchanting way.
