Tyler the Creator is one guy. The group he made famous is Odd Future. There are like 70 of them and only two have actual talent. Tyler is cool and all but doesn't really specialize in any thing specific. Basic lyrics, simple keyboard beats. Earl is great at his multi-syllablic rhymes but needs to develop an actual flow rather than just talking over the mic and kind of sounding the same every song. Everyone else is either a standard rapper or someone who just stands next to Tyler.

I know its Odd Future but like you just said, they basically just stand next to Tyler so I really only mention him. Besides Earl, Domo Genesis, and Hodgy Beats.

I was just thinking recently the same thing about Earl, that it seems like he just talks over the mic. Domo Genesis does somewhat of the same thing except on a few songs (Sam is dead, and Pigs Fly.)

Tyler didnt create Odd Future though, Earl did. Apparently, Tyler stepped up when Earls ma tweaked out and sent him off to a private school when she heard his first mix tape. (Dont quote me now.)

Their beats are all made by a girl (Syd tha Kyd) not by Tyler, so the keyboard beats arent his. They actually use regular laptop beat makers like fruity loops and shit like that.

I think a lot of the reason im attracted to the music is because of my age and them being all the same age a lot of things they say I can sit and be like "Hell yeah, I feel that."

As far as there already being a thread about this, I did look through the entire "Other Music" section before I started it. I didnt realize if you put something into search itll still come up even if the thread isnt here anymore. You were right though

Tyler entirely self-produced Bastard and Goblin except for one song that was made by Left Brain.

Left Brain has mostly produced the bulk of OFWGKTA songs. Not Syd.

Ive only been into them for a little while now, so theres a lot I dont know. Id love to know more if you wanna share some more?

I really do appreciate the correction. For the most part ive listened to Bastard and Goblin most of the time, im so much more into Tyler than the rest of them.

I said he made them famous. I never said he made the group. And....You are wrong. Tyler the Creator makes 99% of his own beats and him and Left Brain make most of the beats for Odd Future. I'm not sure how many beats Syd does but not nearly as many as them. Tyler is the creative force behind the entire crew and the reason they are known.
