Im sure you have all heard on the news now what has happened in Aurora, Colorado. How horrible? I cant get it out of my mind. My heart goes out to all the familys who lost someone dear to them, to all the deceased who lost their lives in this tragedy, and to all the injured suffering due to somebodys horrible decision.
Im not sure what else to say but give my sincerest apologies to them.

I saw it on our early morning news & am just getting "caught up.". It's always sobering when something like this happens. It seems more people are reporting that it was 12 people killed. This morning, they said 14. One thing I'm a bit confused about is there was a baby in the theatre that was shot. What is a baby doing at a midnight screening of a movie? I also saw the Paris premiere was cancelled. They are stepping up security at movie theatres here in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh IS Gotham City in this Batman, so there's tons of interest here.

I know! I definitely don't think the film was suitable for a baby, who sold the baby a ticket?!

I feel the same. I busted out crying when I heard that this morning. My heart goes out to all involved. I kind of hope they pull some of the advertising for the film for a few days. I just heard a commercial for it and got sick to my stomach.
I remember taking my son to a movie that we wanted to see when he was a few months old. You figure (hope) they are just going to sleep.
So tragic. My deepest sympathy.

What's going on with this movie? It's gotten all of this negative publicity and then this shooting happens. :/ Really sad shit. We need a bit more gun controlling.

I just saw NBC news (Ann Curry) play the "Young Family Needing A Night Out" card. First, night out at a midnight movie? Second, under any other circumstances, this would probably be questioned by child services. I don't see how a baby could sleep through a loud movie.
I did also see that one of the victims had survived a mall shooting in Canada several weeks ago. I'm sure, as we hear more stories of the victims, it'll just become more heart breaking.

It reduced me and my mother to tears together, my 12 year old brother as well.
I was also wondering 1) Why a 3 month old baby was at the midnight premiere of a huge action movie and also 2) Why was the emergency exit James Holmes came into unlocked from the outside? That is so damn dangerous. I also read that one of the girls who unfortunately did not survive the shooting was in a shooting a while ago and didnt get shot, can you imagine that? Escaping one, just to end up losing your life in another one?
Over all, its hard to even put into words exactly what I think about it. More or less just shock and disgust in James Holmes. Apparently he said it was because he wanted to be like the joker, thats what I had read which honestly pissed me the fuck off. You wanna be like the god damn joker and so you take the lives of many innocent people, scarring the rest of them? Wow.

NBC reported that the "suspect" Parked his car out back of the theatre, he entered the theatre, exited through the door & propped it open while he got whatever from his car (weapons, etc). He reentered the theatre. Cheers to CNN for not using the shooter's name- instead focusing on the victim's. More of that needs to be done when events like this happen.

Ohhhh I see I see, that makes sense. I was outraged by it, anybody could get through those if they were unlocked from the outside thats dangerous. Cheers indeed! Someone was just saying that exact thing to me, that the victims should be more recognized than the asshole who victimized them is now on a popularity spree. For all we know, that could be exactly what he wanted.
I wish I could pay my respects to each person that was harmed individually by name.

I watch a lot of Dateline & shows about crime & one thing that's pretty common amongst most killers is they want attention & they feed off of it- like the Zodiac Killer, the Virginia Tech shooter. Both those were in contact with the media. It's a narcissist thing, I think.

I am ashamed to admit that I don't fully comprehend all of the politics on gun control. I am however extremly confused on how or why they let the ban on assault weapons that Clinton I think instituted, run out??? What would be the need for any of us to have them?

No regrets
The only regret you should ever have in life is the time wasted on regretting things.
Easier said than done, but possible!
We all have our issues, just keep your head up, know you're not alone, & remember that someone out there has it a lot worse....That's what gets me through...

Because its our right as Americans to be able to own rediculous weapons that were only invented some 200 years after the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution. (please read that with the utmost sarcasm)

My gun collection Part 6:
well, I sold most of guns this year. I never purchased one, but inherited from grand dad, dad and uncle. I hated selling family gifts, but I took the money and took the family to the beach for a week. It was fucking great and I say fuck those guns...
So, I have 3 left, but 2 are over 100 years old and like new, from the grand dad's law enforcement days. I hate to part with them, but I'm looking at this new Gibson or thinking about La Jolla, CA... I think my existing family might hate me if I sale the family history, I might offer it to them for sale first.
got to go, time for church...
