Viacom's all up in my shit over me posting videos on YouTube, they've issued 2 takedowns already and YouTube's all pissed at me now.

In order to get my account all happy again the videos below are going to be deleted off my YouTube account in the next 24 hours. See playlist below, it has all of the videos on the list.

I'm only going to leave up the Glasgow video and any non-Viacom videos.

Glasgow was an MTV broadcast, but after Adam's passing, that video got shown sooooo much love, and had soooo many comments etc. that, that's where I draw the line, I'm f-ing leaving it up because EVERYONE should see that video. If that's the video that get's my account banned permanently, so be it. It's that good. That's the video where everyone left messages to Adam, and I'm not f-ing taking it down!!!! Viacom, LEAVE THIS ONE ALONE!!!! It's like a living tribute at this point.

I'd suggest you all try out http://keepvid.com and save the videos yourself, but that would be wrong, so don't do that, mmkay, that's wrong... Don't ever use http://keepvid.com Saving videos you love, Wrong!! Don't use http://keepvid.com to save any of these videos, got it??? ;)

I want my account back in good standing because I have a metric assload of OTHER rare vids, FULL live shows etc I want to upload, and YouTube now has me on restriction because of Viacom.

I put these videos up for fans to watch, not for myself, I already have the videos, duh, and I feel really shitty for having to take them down, but it's only to get my account all good again so I can upload more cool stuff, I really hope you guys understand...

Viacom, I know you troll these forums, and I can prove it. Just leave the Beastie Boys videos on YouTube alone, do like everyone else, put your ads on the videos, that's ok, taking down people's YouTube pages, during a time when people are still in shock, and grieving over a fallen friend, that's just fucked up.

2 strikes? Oooh geez you're on thin ice. They'll shut you down for sure - my account was "in good standing" and I still got hammered, even though I did the right thing and removed EVERYTHING that was putting me at risk. I was devastated to lose all those beautiful comments about Yauch. It was during the week he died and people had written AMAZING tributes, which YouTube heartlessly deleted. Plus there were a bunch of lovely emails and comments on my channel itself........all gone.......gone.......GONE!!!

Best case scenario, you'll be able to save yourself.

Worst case? You'll be SHUT DOWN AND SHUT OUT.

In case this happens, my advice would be, act now!

- save copies of your YouTube emails elsewhere if you want to keep them, cuz they'll stop you from logging in to your inbox

- do screenshots of the comments underneath your vids, cuz this'll be GONE (ctrl printscreen). Jo might upload them to the gallery for you so we can still see them. (Some of those are from YEARS ago, and it warms my heart to read them, now.) Tell me if this is too time consuming and I'll help you. The other option is to save the text only and transfer it into a Word document! Quick and cheerful!

- write down who you've subscribed to over the years, otherwise you'll never find all your fave channels again.

I've only gotten one warning, for putting up one of the videos, and it seems to have dissappeared completely when I was looking for it! So You Tube must have deleted it! Also I had uploaded once some TV-show clip and that dissappeared pretty quickly. Now I only have stuff that I've filmed myself (https://www.youtube.com/user/bgrrrlie), sometimes I get a message from You Tube that somebody else has the rights to the music. I wrote about it in The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Weeping Willows Facebook and they answered by posting my videos on their site! :D BRMC has also posted my videos on their My Space, which I understand that they appreciate my filming... :cool:

What companies acting on behalf of "protecting their property" don't understand is that the web is an archive. It just keeps growing, it links to links which link to links and in 100 years time, archives on forums, youtube will be invaluable to how we have changed. But viacom need to fuck with that make sure they own the history - not the fans, not beastieboys.com just someone with a piece of paper saying they own it so they can file under "mine".

Screw them, I for one I am happy to see major labels falling to their needs because music will still be made, the fans will still find it - if they don't want to be a part of the new world using their distribution networks to make money and dray the likes of HMV down with them then so be it.
