I went to an artist meet and greet with Shepard Fairey today and got him to sign a poster sized printout of his MCA tribute billboard piece. Since this artwork isn't available for purchase, (Glen E. Friedman whom Fairey was inspired by and collabed with on this billboard didn't want to sell it, but wanted it only as a tribute. Fairey thought maybe they should sell it and give all the profits to cancer research, but Shepard followed Glen's lead since Glen knew and worked with the B-Boys.) I had to print my own copy with a large scale poster printer at work.
Shepard was super cool and said he had been a a Beasties fan since 86'. He added his favorite MCA line - 'disrespecting women has got to be through'.

very cool. I remember when they collaborated for the beastie art tribute gallery back in 09. "under the influence"

the piece used the same photo and posse in effect theme and sold for a whopping Five Grand. cool that they donated their time and effort for that billboard project...

and I'm a big fan of his work.

That Shepard Fairey work went right away. I would have liked to have gone to the show in person. I bought a crazy painting from that show via internet, and now I get all the emails for their other shows.

I bought two posters from the Arrested Development one. :o
