I went to the TFC 99 outside of Chicago. During RUN-DMC's set (this was before they released Crown Royal), Run kept saying he was so excited because they were going to release a track that had both them and the Boys on it. Any clue if this was actually recorded or if it never panned out and it was never recorded.

With both JMJ and MCA gone, this should be released.

As I recall, this is briefly discussed in the book "Raising Hell - The Reign, Ruin, and Redemption of Run DMC and Jam Master Jay"

See:
http://www.amazon.com/Raising-Hell-Redemption-Run-D-M-C-Master/dp/B001G8WR2Y

As CJ Hood stated the only known product to arise from a combined Beastie Boys - Run DMC project is the song "Dem Girls" which Fred Durst rapped on. As was previously stated - Adrock put together the music portion of the track for the Crown Royal album - but opted to leave his name off of the credits when it became a Durst track.

If you go to google books you can read the part online:
http://books.google.com/books?id=CXjY_z9mjYEC&printsec=frontcover&dq=run+dmc+reign+redemption&source=bl&ots=_FTNC_C4FK&sig=8MXyXg1suZvv-v--8rwl4i8VLXw&hl=en#v=onepage&q=durst&f=false

"Ad then told the Beasties' manager - Make this as impersonal as possible but call their manager, and get me off the record. They can have the track. I just don't want to be down with it. He claimed he had nothing against Fred Durst personally but still told his manager, "I just don't want to be down with that."

I wish I had video of this but they did not allow camcorders in to this and it was before cameras on cell phones.

Seems like someone would at least have audio of their set. It was double the length of the Beastie's closing set

There is both audience recorded video and audio of the Run DMC set. There is even a portion of the show which was proshot and aired on HBO's Reverb.

I remember hearing about this, but I also remember hearing they backed out because it had Fred Durst and Kid Rock on the album.

It was the worst set I've ever had to sit through.

Audience recorded vid? Do tell. Never seen that.

I am with you - there likely is something out there.

Both groups got together in 1987 to record the Together Forever Tour radio ads -

Also, back in 2001-2002 a guy who had an email address with the name newcleus in it wrote me and said that he had an audio recording which consisted of the Beastie Boys and Run DMC sitting in the studio listening to records and joking around...it was approximately 30 minutes long. I was never able to lock down a trade for it...never seen or heard tell of it since.

I was at the show and I swore they were on for 2 hours. They did talk a TON so maybe it just felt like 2 hours.

Are you sure that is a full set list? I swore they Mary Mary and I had not heard it in years. I went out and bought Tougher Than Leather the next day. Pretty sure they played Down with the Kings as well.

I am probably wrong though. It has been 13 years and I am getting old.

I was at the TFC 99 show and that Run DMC show felt way tooooo long. I don't recall them mentioning anything about a track...but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It was a long time ago and my memory is horrible. But like everyone else I believe there's gotta be something in the vaults somewhere.
