I dont know if he created it or what but the first person I obviously looked for was MCA and he was absent. so, I write "wtf....NO MCA OF THE BEASTIE BOYS?" and he deleted my post! wtf????

That's Etta James, who is black. She's just light skinned. She died earlier this year.
At Last, live, which is off topic, but worth it.

As paperdali said, it's Etta James. Unless you're talking about the other corner. That's Michael Jackson.

Since that is your friends art and I'm guessing you don't know the purpose or reason behind it, you might have started off by asking a few questions before getting so upset. That would have been my first thought too, "where is Yauch?" but I may have left the "wtf" off. I would have deleted your post as well. Who knows he could have done this for a show on famous African Americans who have passed away ??? In which case MCA might have looked a little out of place.

true but to me and most of us, when we think of famous and inspirational people, MCA comes to our minds first and this person is always on the hip hop forefront and he and I spoke about the beastie boys on several occassions and I would have thought he would have been in the artwork.
lets be honest, if it wasnt for the beastie boys, I dont think i would have listened to rap. I remember when run dmc came out, I was kind of scared to listen to thier music. then i saw my 7 year old neighbor with the cassette and I was like "well, if he can listen to it, y cant i?" but the beastie boys were the ones that got me into other groups like public enemy, slick rick, doug e fresh. the list goes on and on. Hell, I dont think I would still be with Fever right now if it werent for the Beastie boys.

Yes. When I think of famous and inspirational black people, the first person I think of is MCA. :/
I see where your misunderstanding came from in that you thought Etta James was white, but it was clear to me that all the artists were people of color.
I agree that since he was your friend, you could have given him the benefit of the doubt before going all OMGWTFMCA@!#@$@ about it.
Maybe send him a mea culpa that it wasn't clear to you that he was paying tribute to black artists and you made a mistake and shouldn't have gone apeshit? People don't often apologize. I'll take a heartfelt apology over flowers any day.

looks like a collage of mostly solo artists as well. And not much rap influence in there.
I imagine if mca was in that pic, there would probably have been a flurry of posts on that message board saying wtf? Really not worth getting knickers in a twist.

I spoke with the guy who posted it, well, reposted it. he said he got it from another site. I asked why he deleted my comment and he said he didnt want to put anything negative to it. he also replied "yo, mca is my boy and I used to roll with him and i wouldnt do anything to disrespect him".
