I too fell in love with and in California all over again. congrats on your engagement!
I am very happy for you , but the part about so many fast food places in Sacramento- tell me THAT's not what you loved about it?
had two road trips this summer covering the whole state. went camping along the coast, discovered some remote beaches and State Parks, drove through Sacramento but never stopped (the best way to see Sac). drove over the Golden Gate Bridge, stayed outside San Fran in a little marina in Sausolito and camped out in the Sierra Nevada mountains with my bro and friends at the High Sierra Music Fest.
then I honeymooned in San Luis Obispo, saw Hearst Castle in San Simeon, hiked all over Big Sur and found a hidden beach with purple sand... then we stayed in Carmel, did the 17 Mile Drive and saw Pebble Beach/The Lone Cypress and watched a bunch of seals and sea otters chilling out in a marine sanctuary.
In Monterrey, we stayed near Pacific Grove and went to Cannery Row and the aquarium. saw a really cool jellyfish and seahorse exhibit.

I'm shocked you left the country. But seriously, that's great, really pleased for you.

thank you remy and msf! it only took me 29 years and a travel on the other side of the world to get a guy but it was so more than worth it! so glad i waited for the right person
remy, i love those fast food places especially 'in and out' :o but only aslong as i can afford going there otherwise they are just a tease
i also love californian styled houses with their cute little gardens, always did and i love palms, havent seen those in 24 years and the weather is awesome, enjoyed old sacramento aswell
passed the golden gate bridge once, was pretty damn cloudy that day and went to pier 39, too bad going to alcatraz was too expensive but we could see it from the distance. was a good day and time nontheless
cant wait to get back!

ahhh, yes, I can't be mad at you then.
In-N-Out is indeed one of the best things to come out of California.
I have a strict no fast food policy but I give them a free pass, because of their fresh meat and produce as well as friendly service...
