Seen em a few times live now - been a fan since their first EP.
As great as they are, sadly they have zero stage presence. I was bored the last time I saw them.
I'll have to check out their new album though. Is it released on vinyl?

Great album. Still playing it over and over - lots to take in.
Posted this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GPGiJCzSK4) on my facebook the other day. It's not normally my sort of thing, but fuck it if these kids don't half do a good version of FLWOGB.

Many elements are borrowed from decades past (I think the Lennon comment is bob-on accurate) but I think they put a nice modern twist on it.
It's summery feel-good music in a time when the world is going to shit and modern mainstream music is stagnating. It ain't exactly a revolution but it's all about the good vibes.
What did/do you make of MGMT out of interest? I think it's like a more rounded, band oriented version of that sort of sound (although perhaps leaning more towards psychedelic than pop).

I get any Floyd, Sabbath, Beatles references sound wise but I'm with FB in that they put a new twist on it mos definitely. I'm late to the party, bought Lonerism at the beginning of the week not stopped listening to it and bought innerspeaker this morning and love that too. I get it's not everyones cup of tea but i like it a lot
I'm sort of glad mikizee said they poor live though because now i don't feel so bad about missing out on the Ritz gig :)

Same - I spent a good half an hour yesterday trying to comprehend why Ticketmaster would let me search for tickets that didn't exist!

i prefer them to MGMT, all mouth and no trousers that lot. just a couple of hooks and not a lot else.
What i heard of Tame Impala definitely had a good groove and some nice bits just didnt necessarily go anywhere or surprise me in anyway. Just rehashing old influences without doing anything different.
But i am basing this on three songs now. I will investigate more and maybe rock a bit of green and see what happens.
