Lyrics from the Monty Python Song; Oh Lord Please Don't Burn Us

O Lord, please don't burn us,
Don't grill us or toast your flock,
Don't put us on a barbecue,
Or simmer us in stock,
Don't braise us or bake or boil us,
Or stir-fry us in a wok.

I love finding samples or lyrical references. And I love sharing them with the other fans. It makes good horse sens to me that they would have been influenced by Monty Python.

Silly walk ... ? Like Jabba the Hutt

Ha. maybe. I remember reading in one of those oral histories that Yauch would imitate the silly walks.

You are right sir. I was agreeing with the previous poster that Jabba has a silly walk, and possibly the lyric could have come from the Bboys joking about the silly walk sketch. Not that the lyrics say "silly walk, like Jabba the hutt" but in my haste to respond I didn't full read the previous post.

I admit the Jabba angle is a stretch. All of us carry on. Nothing to see here.

also, wasn't it a Mike D line?
(the aforementioned Jabba The Hutt lyrical reference)

Yeah of course it was. I think the dude was just saying "OTHER POSSIBLE MONTY PYTHON REFERENCES"

oh, I don't think the dude was saying that.

but your reference discovery seems legit.

The Dude was probably lamenting the fact that Brandt is gone. Since Brandt was always relatively cool to him considering the circumstances of their relationship. I mean at least he referred to him as "Dude".

When Intergalactic was new, my co-worker was dissing it, pointing out that line in particular to show the Beasties had fallen off. "I'll stir fry you in my wok? Come on!" I didn't really have a reply then - now I just need a time machine.
