Lots of good east coasters come around here, including of course the main reason why this place exists, the Beasties themselves. May any and all that have to deal with this weather see its end quickly and without harm.

We are in our 2nd of hotels. Tonight an hour from home. Last nights, hour after we checked in power went out. No generator, just back up lights for the stairwells. They are saying 7-10 days for restoration. We are better off than a lot of others :( yes, I hope everyone and their family's are safe.

I so hope he and his family were able to find somewhere to go and somehow to get there. We live about 45 min from NYC on the border of ny, nj, & pa and temps really dropped last night.

Hope all is well with East Coasters. Stay warm and dry, and I hope the lights are on, soon.

Anyone near Brooklyn today and would like to help out

From: Elana Bulman (elana.bulman@gmail.com)

Hello wonderful volunteers!

Here are the places that need volunteers to help with recovery on the Lower East Side today. For a full list of volunteer opportunities all over the city please see www.occupysandy.org. If you are in Brooklyn, we are directing all volunteer to our main distribution sites, 5406 4th Ave in Sunset Park or 520 Clinton Ave in Clinton Hill (see below). Please note that you DO NOT need to sign up or ask what time to come.

If you are in Brooklyn, please come to our main distribution sites at St Jacobi Church in Sunset Park or the Church of St. Luke & St. Matthew in Clinton Hill. These distribution centers are the first stop for volunteers. Cars will be taking volunteers, food and supplies to affected areas in the Rockaways, South Brooklyn, Staten Island, etc. throughout the day. Bring a vehicle and gas if you can and donations of warm clothing, blankets, food, water, batteries, and flashlights.
