I kinda grew tired of Lupe a couple of years ago- I rated his flow and lyrics but he's just too earnest and seemed to want to switch up his image every year or 2. I really stopped checking for him before Lasers was finally released, and the stuff I heard off that merely disinterested me more.
Anyway, I heard his new track the other day and it's about the use of the word "bitch" in hip-hop, something that many detractors of the culture cite as one of the huge problems. It's very insightful, and as somebody pointed out is essentially a narrative description of the Madonna-whore complex and how it affects both young men and women.
Next time a girl thinks I'm shady for being into hip-hop (although I try to avoid those type of people anyway), I'm going to show them this.
