Don’t like Bridgett? I don’t know, I was reading comments elsewhere and it seems some other fans don't like the touring with Bridgett.... I don’t care much for her but I am glad he’s out doing something that makes him happy.
Anyway just passing the news.

It's pretty punk for him to be DJing for this ridiculous act. And it's funny.

If he enjoys it, then have at it. I don't particularly care for the act itself. It's stupid, not funny, and pretty much blows. If it came to my town and he was DJing, I'd probably go to see him.

yeah, i'd prob check it out because, shit, adrock. which is probably why this show gets a lot of its attention. its cool that he's having fun. there are a lot of talented artists out there that he could also be having fun with.
the only way i'd could co-sign on this if its he's doing this to help break the mold of the typical female ideal, giving support to an untraditional sort of "star".
i don't see this as punk. yeah its cool that he is secure enough to not give a shit and get with this act. aside from the whole confident big girl thing, i just don't really dig it her act.
no big deal, just i want to see m'man making great music of his own and being supported by others -he's the king, dammit! he should be fronting it

I was thinking more Gala Eventy, instrumenty, bringing out familiar faces as well as showcasing "the act"

I didn't realise Adrock had been supporting this comedian till now. It's alright, but I too would like to see him do is own thing. Bring back BS2000 could be one idea?
Then again, if this is what the dude wants to do, then why the fuck not.

Well I think we all want to see Adrock just do what he does best. How long has he been doing shows with her? I am not too familiar with her. I’ve watched only a handful of shows with Adrock present and that’s about it. Adrock is such a talented musician and it would be great to see him making music again but perhaps he needs more time. We’ll see.
I am not sure if he would be doing much DJing since it's her show.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I think it is funny and challenges perceptions and expectations.
Obviously this is not Adam's primary contribution to music and culture (that was HSC pt 2 last year), but a quirky side project. I would not expect any fresh pressed primary contributions from Adam and the usual suspects until 2014.

I have no problem with the act, she's free to do whatever she wants. I just wonder from a psychological perspective what compels her to do this sort of act. I'd bet she's got all sorts of issues and insecurities wrapped under that blanket of "I'm a fat girl hear me roar!" Imagine the backlash that this act would get if it was a really attractive girl with a perfect body bragging about herself?
Adrock can do whatever he wants but the whole thing is pretty cringeworthy to me.

Sometimes performance art is designed to be cringeworthy. I recall when I first watched The Office (UK version) it was difficult in some respects. Trailer Park Boys (Canada) was another show that at times was too much. There are better examples than those shows. Perhaps some of Lenny Bruce's work landed well (http://youtu.be/gDkoCtMOFOg), other times not.

It would be awkward to be the person doing something with him. On one hand, I suppose you want an audience, but on the other hand there's a good chance it will be the wrong audience. Hopefully anyone who buys a ticket to the Largo will know there's a better than average chance that it's meant to be comedy. It seems like the right venue for this sort of thing -- it's dumpy in a good way. The last time I was there it was half empty and freezing cold which added to the atmosphere.
If I was in the town, I'd go.

I don’t think a lot of fans really realize what it will be with Bridgett. I think a lot of people will be under the impression that it’s mainly his show. I am all for another BS 2000 or anything where he puts his creative music genius to use. He’s also just composed music for a film so he’s doing other things on the side too.

If I saw an ad promoting a Adrock solo show, I would think he would be performing BS 2000 songs, some cover songs and maybe Live at PJ's, Gratitude and Sabotage.
I would be disappointed if it turned into some cabaret show. I would demand a refund!

I finally got around to looking up who BE was. I fail to see how what she does is any less offensive/scandalous than anything the boys did on stage during the LTI era shows. This is definitely a step back for Ad-Rock in my opinion. To each his own, I guess.
Looking forward to attending on Sunday. Should be interesting.

it shouldn't matter. dude is making music with his friends on his own time and his own terms. this just happens to be comedy/cabaret/performance art.

Went to a sushi place before the show. Horovitz and the Tender Moments guys walked in. Too many tables were reserved so they went down the street to a Vegan place. They walked past us into the venue. Adam's still smoking, but so am I, so whatever. We went in and had a drink at the bar where Money Mark was ordering a bottle of Cristal.
Adam came out on stage alone at first and was basically the emcee, introducing two comedians. Then the Bridget/Tender Moments show started. There was a few songs I had already seen on youtube. I was surprised how tight the band was. Sounded like they've been rehearsing like crazy. It was a pleasant surprise to see Fredo on percussion. I actually think Adam might be a better bassist than guitarist. He was totally getting into it, bouncing around, sticking his tongue out, having a blast. Bridget was Bridget, nip slips abound.
Overall, it was a really entertaining show and it was nice to see Adam having a good time. Glad I checked it out.

Really glad I went to this...was such a fun, ridiculous show. As a comedian myself it was really fun to see a chick who was just so utterly fearless. Loved all of it, and yeah it was so fun to see adam having a blast. Did make my heart twinge a bit to think I'd never see the Bboys again, but I digress, it was a fun night that I would recommend to anyone who doesn't have a stick up their ass.

But, seriously, that ad shouldn't have said it was an Adrock solo date when it's not. The show is actually a Bridget Everette and the Tender Moments show featuring Adrock on bass. Why cause confusion? If you're not a Bridget Everette fan, you're going to be disappointed. I saw a version of Sabotage they did at one of these shows on Youtube, and it sucked!
I personally would love to see Adrock put together a band and do some punk rock shows. I know it will probably never happen, but a fan can wish.

solo date=one night only. not a solo act.
it was indeed an evening with Adam Horovitz and friends, as advertised.
I'm sorry you and others were confused.
it was a really fun evening. Adam H introduced a couple of comedians in his daytime attire, then Neal Hamburger introduced the main act and AH came out suited up as a Tender Moment along with Alfredo and others.
yeah the band was pretty tight.
some fun crowd interactions and a few actual tender moments in the act made for a great night out. Bridget is a force to be reckoned with, but after the show she was really friendly and easy going. even with a name like adrock attached, she thanked the crowd for coming out and waiting in the rain after show was over.
it had a comedy cabaret feel. nothing to get all serious about. just good fun.
Aside from nonchalantly saying to bf, "oh, Horovitz is walking in the door" at the sushi place we were eating, as if it were an everyday occurence, and making eye contact with him, then having him walk by us after his dinner - one of the best moments was watching dandyfop struggle to not look up the skirt og Bridgett as she walked on the armrests of your seat. We tried to find you after, but didn't have any luck. We were 2nd row, A, so we were "safe" from the antics. What an adventure!

last night's performance was in a small restaurant/club in this strip mall in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood...
so Bridget spotted a couple a guys in Yankees hats and they became her marks for the whole night. at one point she said "I bet you're here to see adrock but have you ever been with a big girl before?"
then she proceeded to motorboat one of them and they, along with their ladies, were having a great time.
then out of nowhere she pulls Flea up on the stage. Adrock hands him his bass and he strips down to a matching underwear outfit and starts playing a walking bass line to a sultry vocal blues song by Everett.
