sigh of relief, I really like Obamas' family, Biden, the difference in how the supporters at that Chicago rally looked like people I see daily, I like this Obama guy.
Romney, with his supercuts white male and bejeweled "formal evening wear" white ladies at his ball made me nauseous.
But mainly it's over. No more advertisements. Please put Trump away. Pull down the signs and lets ignore that asshole from Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell.
Locally here in Washington State we legalized marijuana, looks like we'll make gay marriage legal and pretty much seems we've added a new democratic governor, Jay Inslee.
Overall I'm super happy today.

Man if I was a religious right-wing nutjob I'd probably be crapping my pants right now. Pot legalized for recreational use in two states, for medical purposes in another, gay marriage upheld in 3, four more years of Obama and a openly gay senator in Wisconsin. Luckily I'm a left-leaning Atheist who believes in the random beauty of the universe, equality for all families no matter what combination of sexes comprise them, that ANY religion should have no influences in any constitution or lawmaking, no governing institution should have control over a woman's body, and that the role of government is public health, public safety and public education. Also I understand that no President has any real control of gas prices, can create jobs, or have immediate effect on economic downturn that was a long time coming. I'm proud of you, America.(y)

The right wingers I like to spy on have been posting eagles crying and RIP America. Some are questioning the existence of god. One lady was all "I called in sick to work today", I thought seriously?! Wow, what big fat baby, and also I'm pretty sure if she actually lived under a socialist dictator she couldnt call off work for being sad.

Political Drama Queens. I was waiting for Rush Limbaugh until 8 o'clock this morning, he finally came up with his theory around 1 o'clock this afternoon of why Obama won...
here (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/) It is so idiotic yet well over 14 million people listen daily.
People will spout that bullshit where I work this week. Granted most of us will laugh in their face and say "ditto" and they still won't understand.
The media's relentless willingness to portray this race as "close" in every way possible, while the numbers continued to point in the opposite direction is just the most recent step in a downward spiral of credibility, stressing whatever facts are convenient enough to drive up web traffic and garner the best headlines.
This election was not a blowout, but Obama did not win the popular vote by a "razor-thin" margin either. I guess "Obama wins by reasonable margin," doesn't sound as good.

Rush is such a dumb ass. He says: "The thing that's mind-boggling is that there is no new prosperity in America. There is no improved standard of living. It's all going down."
This is what I don't get about the right, they're so upset that things aren't "normal" anymore. They don't get that their way of life is dying out for good reason. And if they truly had a conservative view point, they'd accept their own failures. They supposedly love Ayn Rand but don't understand that they're the losers, they're not "going Galt".
Of course there is new prosperity, of course there's an improved standard of living! Geez, I hated the way it used to be. "Traditional" 50s utopia America sucks in my opinion. People are free to live that way, no doubt, but it's not for me or hardly anyone I know. And my mom grew up super poor, so she's like "fuck you, republicans, the 50's sucked for a lot of people". (she doesn't swear though).
I actually think that the pressure of finding a husband is bad for women and bad for society. I think it forced my mom into relationships that were unhealthy because the only model for living was the two parent hetero household. It's ridiculous to try to make everyone fit that model. It causes a lot of pain on many levels...and it's just unnecessary. I did better under her care as a single mother than I did when she had a husband.
but I digress.
Anyway, Romney wasn't good enough, that's why he didn't win. I'm surprised he got as many votes as he did, honestly. The worst people liked Romney, and they're proud of being jerks. It's sad. I hope they find some internal peace at some point.

If we just had the popular vote, it would be rather scary considering that despite the overwhelming damning evidence on Romney, 57M Americans didn't care. It was most likely the same mindset of just choose someone else and hope for the best, which is why the GOP won the House in 2010 (though why they've won the House again is beyond me; guess Americans do enjoy having borderline-fascist polices run amuke upon their lives)...just fortunately there were 3 million more Americans who had more brain cells then the voters who even gave Romney that close of a win.

the dow jones instantly tanked once he got re-elected, for reasons that i'm sure are obama's fault because he absolutely had time to do anything within the first 24 hours of re-election that would have an effect on the economy

Futures were up over night. Germany's economy is slowing, they were supposed to be the rock of the EU.... Meh I know your kidding but there's something missing from the Obama winning, market falling Logic. I was under the impression an Obama victory was priced into the markets going into this past Monday.

One thing I will never understand is why the Republican party is the overwhelming choice for the religious/evangelical crowd. It seems like one of the core ideologies of conservatives is this whole idea of "survival of the fittest" and "you gotta help yourself" or "you're only poor because you don't work hard enough." All of twhich are inherently UN-Christian ideas.
Helping out the less fortunate is something that it actually says in the bible

The Republican party behaves "Holier than Thou". They are the most critical biased group of folks in the United States, I'm including their wingnut sub-chapter group the Tea Party with the overall GOP.
They appeal to guys like my dad who never, I repeat never goes to church but always includes Jesus and scripture at some point in his conversations. My dad likes them because they've sold him on words like "Values" and they sell every piece of legislation as if it represents Armageddon and how to avoid it.
Coincidentally my dad, like his political party is extremely judgmental. All generations behind his generation are socialists because we're not all working under bullshit conditions in the factory, going to church and voting republican.
We live in the age of the intangible product, the service sector age.
In the U.S. alone, the service sector accounted for more than half the gross domestic product in 1929, two-thirds in 1978, and more than three-quarters in 1993. Worldwide, the service sector accounted for more than three-fifths of global gross domestic product by the early 21st century. As increases in automation facilitate productivity, a smaller workforce is able to produce more goods, and the service functions of distribution, management, finance, and sales become relatively more important.
These are your voters, they are the ones looking for a dream, a vision. Obama sold them that. The Republican party had an excellent argument but could never close the deal with just an argument. They know they're out of touch and it looks like a few of the smarter guys are going to break from the ideologues.
I know too much banter not enough quips. Fucking texter bitches.

I always put the bible into my conversation because I like words like "righteous" and I think things like "I should make my relationship with my wife more righteous." I make church attendance about 50% of the Sundays. I do attend 2 other church related classes each week and make about 70% attendance to those. So shit I am a junkie, I see church and study as my AA. I still want beer though.
I like to provide service and get paid.

it's cheesy to just quote stephen colbert and i'll admit i don't know a ton about christianity, but i feel like he was pretty spot on with “If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it.”

ARRRGH! I hate him so much!!! He's such a sniveling little weasel!
His point of view needs to die out, these people are so fucked up. The only "gift" I'll receive from Obama is the peace of mind that my president isn't a science-denier.
if it weren't for those bribes like affordable healthcare and less deportation, and all those pesky voting minorities, we could've won this thing

From writer Barbara Shelly in the Kansas City Star today,
To be fair, more enlightened Republicans realize that the road to redemption in national elections needs to steer clear of insulting entire blocks of people.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called Romney's remarks "absolutely wrong" and said the party needs to get the message across that "our policies benefit every American who wants to pursue the American dream."
In a gift of a comment, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour recommended "a very serious proctology exam" for the GOP.
Other Republicans said Romney did them no favors, and they suggested that he head full speed for a rest stop called irrelevance

Obama didn't win this one as much as the republicans lost it
they did it to themselves, and all the idiots who followed along will soon learn that their party is fast becoming a colossal failure
what good did congressional pubs serve these past years?
yeah, I couldn't find an answer either...
but at least they got to live on our dime!
