well I am hitting the road to the big town located outside the larger town of Post, TX.

I turned down my opportunity to go deer and turkey hunting, but I plan on eating someone else's turkey. Plus do a little fishing.

anyway, just wanted to say happy thanksgiving to the BBMB as I will be scrambling for the next 4 days.

Hope to catch up on Sunday.

I have made the Turkey dinner at my house for family and friends the past seven years, this year is so hectic we're all going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving.

Sort of relieved I'm not doing all the work but I am going to miss out on cooking the bird, which I really excel at. Plus I already feel guilty just taking it easy, usually I'm busy getting ready for a dozen plus for dinner etc...

I'll have to be honest, I love seeing my family and friends on Thanksgiving but the buffet style Turkey dinner we had was gross.

The centerpiece of Thanksgiving is food and really the effort put forth by the place we ate was weak. Dry turkey, muddy mashed potatoes, old sock dressing and some really bizarre yam thing. This place had an excellent table and fantastic view of Downtown Seattle, but you know, looking at downtown Seattle is pretty much a daily occurrence if you live in Seattle.

Next year it's back to my house, for awesome food! I've been cooking this recipe called the "Judy Bird (http://www.latimes.com/features/food/thanksgiving/la-fo-turkey19-2008nov19,0,5791531.story)" I found in the LATimes... and I'm making one for sure next week to make up for the dinner last week.

On a positive note everybody will be super happy to back at my place next year. I'm a food junky, I watch food network, I read restaurant reviews, I dine out often and I cook. I cook like a mofo.

The way it's made it's more of a desert then vegetable side dish. Just about everyone in my family hates it but will notice if its not on the table :) when is your big day?
