When you guys were in school, did you ever do any sort of project or paper about the band? I just did a video as my final project for my Digital Media Production class at Rasmussen College and it was a countdown of my Top 5 All-Time Favourite Beastie Boys Music Videos. I posted it on YouTube if anybody actually would want to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lUGr77A67A I got an A on it. What grades did you guys get?

its a school project. his writing isnt bad, his delivery is confident, his personality seems genuine and unaffected, he seems to mean what he says, he displays a fair amount knowledge and cultural perspective - the kid's got potential. he did a good job. its a school project.

i especially like that he doesn't seem to put on any kind inauthentic tough guy persona like he's some 3rd Bass hanger-on stuck in 1992 like a lot of rap hedz like to do... the uniform. not that there's anything wrong with that if its true. you know, how eminem talks sometimes. i like how he's just (i think) himself - who happens to seem likable... so rock on with that, kid.

the mustache.. for a second, it threw me for a little loop, but why not?

why do you think its "not that great"?

oh, as far as school projects.. me and my friends did the obligatory sabotage video cover and i got an A as director. they showed it in all the english classes for juniors and seniors and i got a lot of props for it, it made me happy and made me think about the future.

i also remember doing some kind of deconstruction of sure shot for a music class assignment. talking about the usage and repurposing of flute loop and stuff like that.

I did an informative speech on the career of the Beastie Boys in high school. I think I got a B or an A I don't remember.

Thanks man! Appreciate the props!

The mustache...that was for Movember. I filmed the video on Thanksgiving. The hair and the mustache are all gone now: https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/c67.0.403.403/p403x403/312838_10152311216695367_1193530805_n.jpg

That was cool dude!
Every project in school where we could pick the topic, of course i would write about the beasties.
I wrote a 10 page paper on the bboys
I did a powerpoint on "sabotage" and the meaning behind the song
I wrote my essay for both the SAT's & CAHSEE about them
i seriously cant even remember but every school project/ essay i seem to add them in.

Yeah, I try to insert the Beastie Boys whenever I can! :) This past semester for my web design class, I used Beastiemania as an example of a good website with lots of information.

I so wish I could have used a Beastie topic for a school paper or project at some point.

I was thinking the other day that when it comes to music videos I know artists that have maybe 3 or 4 decent videos max. Beastie's have SO many that I can watch over an over an never get bored. Yauch - genius.
