the past year I've been making a stronger effort to check out new(ish) bands. new to me is anything within the past 10 years or something I just didn't notice before. I've been long stuck in my fixation on 90's and 70's music. here are some bands that I have newly discovered recently that I haven't noticed being discussed much here that I would like to share. some of these bands may be very obvious but I don't pay attention much to current trends so bear with me.

I think some of these bands are actually suggestions from people here.

if I do a list like this again it's gonna be some heavier stuff

You have crackin' taste in new bands (although I'm not too keen on Band of Skulls - all seems a bit paint by numbers.)

I would kill to see BRMC and Black Angels together on stage. It's happened before, and it needs to happen again where I can bear witness to its majesty.

Found out recently that Wallace and Gromit is set in Wigan which is right on my doorstep, so basically I am Wallace, only not quite as bald :/

Also, yes... Earl Greyhound (y)

I've never heard of any of these bands. they're all pretty good especially the dark horses, The Raveonettes, and Wooden Shjips clips.

A lot of them tour or collab with each other (i.e. BRMC's drummer used to drum for Raveonettes and The Black Ryder.)

It's one big happy family of white noise and psychedelica (y)

i don't know what the fuck you're trying to say. all these bands' spirits are straight out of the 70's/90's. not any different than what my taste has ever been.
