View Full Version : Shortalls

I was reminiscing about my favorite shortalls in junior high, because they're probably going to come back into style soon. And so I found this:
http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/shortalls
I wasn't really expecting to see adult babies, but there they are.
This is kinda like when I search for an illustration of an animal, I always come across some weird pornographic anthropomorphic fetish drawings.

nearly every website advertises. sometimes you go to show someone a website that's totally innocent but they have porn banners all up and down the right side. the website has nothing to do with porn. and most of these banners are animated and not very modest. the person you're showing is like your aunt or something. or just somebody that's not very internet savy so they're not use to seeing this shit. they're just looking at you like you're a complete dirtbag. and you don't even notice it because that's just what the internet is.
all the inetenet is, is weird porn and silly animals. and sometimes a combonation of the two....

years ago i showed my parents how to use bit torrents so they could get some music. one of the bands they were looking for was Vinalla Fudge. so they looked them up and all that came up was just black dudes fucking white bitches. my mother was appalled that i brought them to this website that had this type of shit on it. my dad thought it was great. he as all like...HA HA HA VANILLA FUDGE!!!! GET IT? GET IT? HAHAHA! i tried to tell my mom that the internet is pretty much 90 percent porn.
during one of my classes the teacher had the computer projector going. he intented to go to whitehouse.GOV but unintentionally typed in whitehouse.COM. apparently the differenence between gov and com is hardcore porn. everyone was completely shocked including the teacher. he couldn't stop apologizing. he was so embarrased. we had a nun in that class. she was completely disgusted and actually reported the teacher even though it was clearly a mistake that anyone could make. the poor teacher had to have a meeting over it.

I have no idea was a 'shortall' is but I do know that based on that there is no way I am going to go google it. I've lived this long without knowing, I reckon I can carry on for another 40+ years just fine thanks.
because they're probably going to come back into style soon.

What in the world would make you think they will ever be back "in style"...
!!!
i think that they look great on women who are already really hot

Ugly high waisted shorts and other clothing that was popular when I was in junior high is already "in" with the 20 somethings I see. I'm pretty sure hardcore hipster kids have been wearing shortalls already. And considering hipster kids were wearing neon 5 years ago and it just caught on with mainstreamers this past summer, I'm willing to bet the gap will be selling shortalls by spring.

visit your local hipsterhood and you will see the retarded tastes of people who consider themselves to be trendsetters.
you will find shortalls to be the most sensible kind of prediction of what's to come in fashion(y)

Wha? I'm 33 and I think fashion trends are completely fascinating. I don't consider it stressful or something I would necessarily grow out of.
In a societal and historical context, fashion says a lot and gives a sense of time and place.
I need to look up some crazy teens soon. I'm late to the tumblr game.

have teenagers always been this weird, or have internet communities just made them feel more comfortable with it?

Ok, but what about Anna Wintour?
Actually though...now I'm not sure what shit you think I'm thinking about that I will grow out of....?
I think I might be too old to wear shortalls anyway, isnt the saying "if you wore it the first time around, youre too old, etc."?

Anna Wintour is first and foremost a business woman. She decides what the trends will be, she doesn't need to try to suss them out.
I am not saying you stop caring about fashion, I'm saying you stop thinking that it matters very much what is coming next or whatever. You look at designs and designers with a detached eye. Sure, you still see waves from the shore, but you are not longer tossed in the surf. It is most liberating.
There's a saying, I forget how it goes exactly, something like "once you understand style, you no longer have need for fashion."

Oh, you're close with Anna then? Must be nice to feel so above it all. You know, I have friends who are in their 40s and they don't really condescend to me in this way, so pardon me if I'm getting a little irritated by your tone.
You are how you are, I am how I am...I really dont think you can speak to what my future interests will be just because I'll be older. My job actually involves being aware of and anticipating trends in home decor. Fashion informs home decor, and I also just like design and always have.
Regarding that last bit about style...I have style. I am respected for my style, because of your comment I looked up an article about a friend of mine from a few years ago and they were asking her about her style inspiration, and she named dropped me and my best friend.
So ugh, stop. You got me all googling petty shit to defend a thread about fucking shortalls. I will wear them bitches if I find good ones, I just figured if they came back in style they'd be easier to find.
This thread is about lesbian adult babies though, so let's get back on track.

Simmer down. All I'm saying is that as you get older, there are a lot of things that you once gave a fuck about that you just won't anymore. It's a blessing. Take it if it means something to you. Leave it if you don't. Then move on with your life.
why are you guys fighting about shortalls
Dorothy Wood
02-19-2013, 07:07 PM
Because Peachy is talking down to me and I don't like it.
There's a misunderstanding here basically. I give a fuck about fashion because I like it, I think it's fun. I'm not even that into it, just aware because I'm in the art and performance world with my work and hobbies, and people tend to dress stylishly because they're being looked at a lot. Really I just go with what I like, I just happen to see a fuck ton of different people and live in a huge city where I can buy/wear whatever I want.
And...if my life works out the way I want, I will be giving much more of a fuck about fashion than I ever have before.
I have a lot of time on my hands right now, I'm on a train for another couple hours, so I'm thinking about this stuff in depth. Sorry, but I just dont like being talked down to, especially when my intentions/thread premise is misinterpretted.

You're right, doc. I dont even know how it became an argument. Sometimes I just can't not stick up for myself. Peachy has a history of talking to me like I'm a simpleton, so I probably read too far into things.
I've never once claimed to be a stable person!:p

I don't have any specific examples, but I have been frustrated by your tone in the past. I suppose most notably (in my mind) when you told me how I ruined my chances with a guy because I acted weird or something...but despite your very firm assertions that I messed things up, that person ended up falling in love with me anyway.
Sometimes you just act like you're better than everyone...I took it too personally this time because it just kept going like you're patting me on the head like I don't understand how burdened I am. You were just putting in your two cents and basically trying to help, I know. I'm not that pissed off anyhow, just trying to clarify my position.
Do you even know who the beastie boys are???
No idea.

Group hug! Group hug y'all! Come on, bring it in.
There it is.
There was one pair of shortalls in that link that was cute. It was the only non denim one.
I, too, love fashion. I'm not very good at putting together outfits for myself, at least not edgy fashiony ones, but I think it is awesome when people can/do.

Grunge has been back and it's already on the way out. Clean cut 90s is jammin now and most of it is gross as hell. At least people are having fun with it though, hey. I'm still holding onto the early 80s, when things were plain and fit well, but got a little jazzy now and then. Today I went to the mall with my mom and I found a pretty sweet cardigan at a store for old ladies. I don't really think it's ironic though, because I like it and I buy clothes at old lady stores for the quality.
Wait, hold up, what's a living scarf?! I'm picturing a wet and writhing worm thing with warts and sprigs of hair, draped around a woman's shoulders.

There is nothing funnier then to see stupid people, say stupid ass shit and then go dig through old post to throw insults around. This works both ways, sweetie. However, I do not care enough about you or what you think of me to waist my time doing that. But you may want to keep that in mind next time you are bored and feel like starting shit with random people.

I should've been collecting them. Last summer I found 3 pair of ugly high waisted denim shorts at the thrift store and flipped them at a resale shop. Made like $12. Not really worth the time in the end, but I thought it was funny and hey free money! (sorta)
