Pros? Cons? Advice? Warnings?
I'm starting a customized 7 day plan as soon as i'm over the flu. Have any of you done one? What side effects can I expect?

to be brutally honest, but they're bullshit. i did my undergrad degree in nutrition and have seen my fair share of "cleanses." they're all a scam. i mean, of course you'll feel better for a while - you're eating better. just eat better now. why wait and punish yourself with a week of pain? moderation in all things = much happier, healthier life.

I did a 21 day detox recently that eliminated dairy, sugar, gluten, alcohol, caffeine, soy and corn, I got the flu in the middle of it, but stayed true to it. It was expensive to eat that way, but taught me a new way of reading labels and consciousness. I dropped a size and slept better than I ever had. Depending on the one you're doing, I can say its a great way to change habits and reeducate yourself.

Ps the first five days are difficult

The benefits seem to be (a) identifying foods you are sensitive to by process of elimination (b) getting through the withdrawals of caffeine and sugar addiction all at once (c) kicks your metabolism (and liver and kidneys) into action to prepare for a long term weight loss regiment (d) and the freakin diet will seem like a walk after the restrictions on the detox.
But I'm no expert.
