who the fuck drinks that shit. it's fucking disgusting. liquefied candy, preservatives and artificial sweeteners. I stopped drinking soda years ago. now any type of sugary drink is way too much for me. i'll have a soda once every few months just because i'll be craving something sweet which I rarely do. the only soda I can stomach now is doctor pepper. you can't even really find convenient 20oz drinks that aren't doused in sugar.
a lot of people can't live without soda and that's all they drink. it's so accepted to drink tons of soda but most people agree that chowing down on candy bars all day long is horrible for you. what's the difference?
the mayor of nyc wanted(but failed, right?) to ban sodas in certain instances and it's a good idea because people are too fucking stupid to drink water instead and guzzle soda all day long. DRINK SOME FUCKING WATER. it's good for you! everyone is so fucking fat(I could stand to lose some weight myself) especially the baby boomers and my parents generation. im no health nut but those two generations especially seem to be so fucking unhealthy, sedentary and eat complete garbage all day long.

Up until about 4 years ago I drank sugary carbonated shite all the time. I got a stomach bug one winter and it wouldn't go away no matter what food I cut out. One day I drank a glass of coke and it made my insides hurt like fuck so I quit the stuff then and there.
Now all I drink at work is water (and the occasional coffee) and at home it's a mix of water and cranberry juice (still got sugar in but keeps the tubes clean). I'll have a coke if I'm at Nando's or something and that's all there is to drink apart from dishwater but I never buy the fizzy stuff if there's alternatives.

I'm not a massive pop drinker, during the day at work and with my meals I just drink water.
If ever I do want some of the fizzy stuff you can't go wrong with a can of Dandelion and Burdock (y)

I go thru phases of one specific drink. either a pop or water or cordial or fruit juice. i used to just drink lots of coke and my teeth are now regretting that so now i mix it up a lot more. at the moment i am flitting between irn bru and pure orange juice with a cheeky ribena thrown in.
I read something that Mountain Dew contains plastic? Poly-something, maybe?
tbh, I miss Mountain Dew. It was a treat. They don't have it in the soda machine here, so I just drink tea and water. But man.. It doesn't kill a migraine like the Dew.

We call it fizzy drink here. Soda sounds like a cleaning product. I rarely if ever drink it, but have been known in the past to prefer Dr. Pepper and Irn Bru
I've got friends who drink nothing but coke or red bull for their daily lifestyle.
EDIT: Will try Mountain Dew for migraines.

About 4 years ago, my tongue started getting numb any time I had high fructose corn syrup, it was annoying enough to get me to quit cold turkey. I drink pibb xtra sometimes at chipotle though, maybe biweekly. Club soda everywhere else.
I heard on the news though, that water is the number one beverage now, so things are looking up.

I'm drinking a can of monster right now to stay up until 5am watching the UFC. Why not? I'm in excellent physical shape, so who gives a fuck, fat people can fuck off and die.

I usually feel automatically shit or tired or more thirsty after drinking any soda/fizzy/beverage such as that. Stick to water nowdays as much as possible.

I used to drink Coke all the time. Two cans a day for a good ten years. It's terrible for you and, in my 20's, I appreciate that now and like Freebasser, I'll have the odd glass if I'm at a meal and am laying off the beer but that's about it.
On the flipside, my alcohol intake now is significantly higher than those coca-cola fuelled teens, so it's just excessive amounts of something else which can have ill-effects on your health. And I can't deny that I loved a cold can of coke twice a day in years gone by...I don't regret a thing - fantastic drink!

I drank nothing but coke for like 4 years straight, I mean literally not a drop of anything else. One day I just thought 'fuck this' and didn't touch the stuff for a good year or so. Started drinking it again and now have the odd glass of it every now and again.
My only 'vice' when it comes to sugary drinks is energy drinks which I'll have like one a day in the morning instead of a coffee. I don't drink any coffee or tea, I don't smoke and don't drink a lot of alcohol, so I guess I could be into worse things!

I got a job in 1996, and it was the first job that had a coffee pot and a water cooler for the employees.
I started drinking black coffee then and after the first day of coffee, I stuck with coffee or tea since. Probably 1.5 pots of coffee per day. Otherwise water. I do have grape juice and lemonade in the fridge.
I went to see Oz with the kids this weekend and had a Large DP. So I will have them, but far and few apart.

Okay, there are definitely some language differences going on here.

I grew up saying "pop", but I switched to saying "soda" because I dunno it sounded more grown up.
I used to drink energy drinks all the time, but my guts don't like them anymore.

i think its that english american translation you know what im saying.
some places in america call it pop
some call it soda
i think in some weird dark corner of the states they call it "coke" no matter what it actually is
i heard someone call it a chazzwazzer once but i don't think they were serious

What's a rot gut? :(
I used to be a garbage disposal, but then I started eating better like organic and gluten free and I feel good and strong and look better than I ever did before. But now when I eat gluten or processed junk my body's all GTFO!

i stopped drinking most soda when i was a teenager, never really miss the stuff. once in a blue moon i'll crave a coke and i go for a coke zero then - just because in paris a couple years ago i had one on a really warm day and it was the perfect breezy afternoon sitting outside a cafe and oh man that coke zero was just what i needed. i'll forever be chasing that coke zero :(
otherwise, i rarely ever drink the stuff aside from if it's in a cocktail. i'm not a big fan of carbonation in general. I do enjoy me some Virgil's root beer if i'm feeling the need for spices and sugar.

In 10 years kids won't know what normal water will taste like - everything is turning into flavored crap
but maybe it'll have electrolytes!

Shit 'joke'.
I drank that stuff all the time age 16-27.
Cut it out of my diet (even though I mostly drank Diet Coke) and dropped about 25 or 30 pounds without changing anything else.
I still love it and I don't pretend that I don't, I just try to restrict it to maybe once a week or so tops.
