I was there! it was my 28th birthday and AIFST camera operator Lyneday pulled some strings to allow me to use her other ticket which was in someone else's name... another operator Ponce DeLeon was picked by Jon Doran and Adam Yauch to participate in the filming.(he's the one who turns the camera on himself midway through the taping)

Adam H and Kathleen came out and blessed the crowd waiting online in teh cold!

the audience was horrible. bunch of tourists couldn't get into it. The Beastie Boys killed that performance.

and a bit of studio magic was used to enhance the sound that the viewing audience heard that night. MCA worked with the Letterman crew to make sure of that..

There was a really good thread back in the day if someone wanted to dig it up.

The "enhanced" audio was needed because of a major flub by the BBoys and some verse mix ups! Those last couple of beats MMM used were noice.
