The tiniest scrap of further info on this would be greatly appreciated.

They might have been discovered becauase someone is looking. Which maybe points to an eventual release of something or another. Which could be nice, if that's the case.

My thoughts exactly. Someone's been digging through the vault.
Can't wait to hear more info on the book. Thanks, CJ

For better or worse, I kind of want to know a little about MCAs battle. That might make me a psycho. I dunno. Sorry.

what was with the cryptic "doc" post that one day?

inquiring minds would like to know.

it would be great to see some of the influential artists and filmmakers come together for the definitive inside look on the life and legend of MCA and his band known the world over as Beastie Boys

It's not Quest. The book hasn't even been written yet so I don't want to blow up his spot but he knows his ish. He's the one that mentioned the new PB trax as well.

I'll throw in Nelson George, Brooklyn based hip hop historian, because, why not?

he made a film about funk that will feature Mike D

I don't think it does at all. I'm curious myself but it seems to be something people don't want to talk about. It seemed like he was getting better and then he was gone and people just wonder what happened.

I don't think most people fully understand cancer remission time periods. If a person is diagnosed with a cancer they may be treated with surgery, chemo, radiation or a combo of all 3. Once the blood cell counts are normal and the pathology reports are clear, the patient is in remission. If the patient is fortunate to be in remission for 5 years, the patient is considered cured. This does not mean that the patient will never get cancer again.

We know what Adam said in the 2-Adams initial announcement of the cancer but we do not know if he was glossing over the reality for the public or even for himself. The word cancer when related to oneself is very difficult to accept. I know when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I found it very hard to believe because I did everything right AND there were no genetic BC issues in my family. Yet the lump was there and it was malignant. AY's interview was upbeat but he did say it already had spread to a lymph node.

It’s natural to want to know. It might give better closure to some. I think he didn’t want to share how bad he had gotten. So I think he knew. In his heart of hearts he knew, but he still fought. Mike D said he had them all fooled. :/

I think he wanted to spend his final days with Dechen and Tenzin in private. That’s exactly what he got and I am happy it went his way.

Great news on the book though. Would be nice to see something NEW coming out on the Beasties. I miss them.

I remember reading somewhere (maybe in the 33 1/3 book) that there were still a shitload of unused PB tracks lying around at one of the Dust Brothers' houses in LA... he said he just couldn't be bothered to dig them out. Maybe the BBoys/someone involved with them finally paid him a visit.

i would imagine any leftovers are in the hands of Matt Dike, if not in the hands of the bboys themselves.
