I thought it was Yauch's cabin in LA..

photo doesn't give many clues as to exactly where that is, but it is definitely in the 89-92 period.

Ben- I just watched your 1989 YO Mtv Raps Today video, they were coming in via satellite from LA, Montana, and the part where they were in a cabin said they were in West Virginia.

Ben- that video I mentioned was uploaded by you but shows the Beastie Boys with Doctor Dre in many locations besides California.

Yauch's LA cabin was in Hollywood Hills, this has been mentioned in Dan Leroy's book and many interviews and articles.

but doesn't mean that the video or photos were taken at that cabin. as someone else mentioned he may or may not have had one in NY?

maybe Yauch just really liked cabins?

remember there was also that recollection during the CYH era wherein they headed to i think northern Cali(?) to a cabin to write lyrics for the album, and they did a ton of grilling (including shrimp skewers). they mentioned this during one of the commentaries (likely the CYH one).

oh yeah, and what about the IC era cabin? the one that Yauch dragged his upright out to in the snow as it was strapped on his back. there's a picture of it in the anthology booklet i believe. this may have been one of his ski trips that he'd decided to bring his upright along for, if i remember correctly.

Yeah, I remember reading about his cabin in LA somewhere (i think it was in one of my beastie books) I don't remember specifics but I could dig around & find the correct info, unless someone does it faster than me.

I have that T-shirt. Was at a rock festival checking some band, I was wearing a T with LTI logo, there comes this guy with a T with log cabin pic, we were, like, giving thumbs up for each other and I took a photo of him. Didn't notice until when I developed the film that the guy was such a cutie! Went to the local skate shop and they ordered that T for me... :o
