I don't mean this to be racist, plenty of white people are quiet. Maybe this is more about upper middle class people and white is the majority. also I am about 75% white.

Anyway, my neighborhood is gentrified now pretty hardcore. Like yuppification happened in an instant. So now like at a bar, white people are just like BROOOO WE'RE SO WASTED YELL YELL YELL. And it's upsetting because it spills into the street. And even now, this second, at my laundromat, there is this flip flop smacking white woman just slamming her shit around loudly. Banging the washers closed, etc. and she stole my seat! Everyone else in here is nonwhite and being quiet and respectful of eachother.

And by my work which has been yuppie for a couple decades, people are just like loud as fuck, oblivious to everything around them. Just constantly talking.

I forgot, I also saw a lady sunbathing in a very small park in a not very private area and she was wearing earbuds and singing along to Katy Perry or something at full volume. As I continued down the alley, like 20 feet away there was a shady thug dude counting money.

Guess it's still kinda weird and dangerous here, despite the influx of suburban people. I wish there could be a happy medium place where people are just regular and not trying too hard. If I find that place I need to move there.

The only neighborhood around here were it's all-of-a-sudden-white-people is the arts district. It's kind of like that with the loudness, too.

If I had to guess and make broad sociological assumptions - I'd say it's because urbanity has felt a bit forbidden to a lot of white people since the "white flight" bullshit. Maybe that's just from growing up around Detroit. It's like a whole race wants to move back into the city and breathe and yell and pretty much announce that they're back and they're not racist and they're drunk. Might work out. Might also end up in them moving back to the suburbs once they realize their art gallery just barely keeps up with what they get in food stamps and doesn't lend itself to a good family life.

I went to school with these kind of people. frat boy and sorority slut type shit, right? suburbanites are fucking weird. they're the most ignorant group of people but since they have money and look a certain way they get a free pass for some reason. they have absolutely no clue how out of touch they are.

there's a lot of weird racial tension shit going on in my city. they've been cracking down on certain nuisance type of crimes because they're tying to clean up downtown for this grand MGM casino that they're trying to build. our downtown is avoided like the plague because it's full of hoodrats. a few years ago there was this fad type thing with grown ass men driving around on these tiny mini motorcycles. these things are by no means street legal and they were just zipping around everywhere with no regard to anything. so they started arresting them and giving out citations and confiscating their bikes. but the only people that were riding around on these bikes were of a certain race so they started screaming racism and discrimination when they were the only ones being hassled by the police. this spring they enacted a noise ordinance. if you're having a party outside in your backyard on a Tuesday late into the night and someone complains you get an automatic 100 dollar citation with no warning. again this certain group sees this as an attack specifically on them and they're grumbling about it. there's also been a rash of pedestrians being hit because they're just darting out into the street. then the person that hits them takes off because they don't have a license. so now they're cracking down on jay walkers and people driving without licenses. and again this group of people seems to think they're being singled out and they're grumbling about it. they're not being singled out, their just the only ones doing these specific bad behaviors. and they're complaining that no white people are being hassled. but there are no white people downtown so how could they be hassled? why does it have to always be about race it has nothing to do with race. they're just going after the shitheads that make people not want to go downtown because it's full of dirtbags.

I used to hang out in royal oak as a teen in the late 90s. I can imagine things have only gotten worse with the bar scene there.

The last neighborhood I lived in got yuppie sieged as well. Building I lived in got bought by a jerky lawyer who decided to make it a single family home, so we got kicked out. And now that area is literally like Vegas on the weekend. It's unreal.

That doesn't happen where I live. The theater by my house serves booze, so all races get rowdy depending on the movie.

Sure, every human has a capacity to enjoy different kinds of music, but there are definitely bands that appeal to a specific demographic. Like stupid mainstream rock and country. Maybe some nonwhite people like that garbage, but the overwhelming majority of mainstream rock music fans are white.

I think if you grow up feeling like a minority for any reason (not just race), you seek out different cultures or start your own so you're not excluded anymore. That's what happened to me as a kid after I moved from my birth state...I was always "other" because I came from a different side of the country, have "ethnic" curly black hair, a different body type, different personality, ate different foods, wasn't the same religion, etc. It made me seek out other "others", because I was never accepted by the dominant culture (still am not). And maybe before it would make me sad that I didn't fit in...but ever since I got out of suburbia 11 years ago, I'm like fuck you mainstream, I don't want you around, I found people who aren't jerks to me.

Because survival doesn't depend on skin color in contemporary humans.

So if you subscribe to the whole survival of the fittest thing, there are too many other factors that would trump physical appearance in determining extinction of certain traits (skin color).

In domesticated species, there are huge variations in appearance within the same species. Cats are similar in body structure, but vary in color, because their survival doesn't depend on color.

I think there will always be variances in the appearance of humans because appearance is related to place, the environment, but also the specific socialization of that area.

I also think for at least another 200-2000 years, there will still be nationalist groups of different types that want to keep their race "pure", which will delay mixing genetics.

Besides, I think you're discounting how many cultures there are that are still completely isolated, or much different than western culture. Asia is huge and has deep-rooted cultures that we barely know shit about.

Everyone would have to be fucking each other for a very long time, centuries, in order for one color to happen. And it would require that color to be some superhuman shade that allows people to survive punishing post-apocalyptic earth conditions.

I mean, would you consider honoring Jackie Robinson as the first African American baseball player to play in the MLB to be racist because it indent offices him by his race and not just identifying him as just another ball player?
Merely recognizing someone's race isn't necessarily being racist. Especially if its intent is to honor an achievement.

in that context even with your definition it is not racist. jackie robinson is not being exemplified as superior or inferior than anyone else, if anything he is being shown as an equal. in addition he is in no way being show as representing all members of the black race in the fact that they all possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race. as in not all black people are good at baseball or broke the color barrier.

he merely was the first african american to play in major league baseball. which did not make him more or less of a person. it did not mean all black people were good at baseball.
