I'll be making my first trip to NYC this summer for 4 days or so. 28 years old, and long time Beastie fan from WV, so I'm hoping to absorb as much as I can. Really wondering if any locals or regular visitors will refer any must see hip hop head/beastie fan locations.
I know the new MCA park opened and I'll definitely be swinging by, but what else is there to see that you won't find on some tourist pamphlet?
Also, good spot for live hip hop late night?

Take the F train in Brooklyn from the 7th Avenue stop going into Manhattan. On the elevated section of the train, between 7th Avenue and Smith Street, keep your eyes to the right window for a walkup building just below the train. There's a really cool RIP MCA/Brooklyn's Own mural on the roof of one of the buildings. I pass by it every day on my way to work.

Carlson- you ought to enjoy the east/greenwich village and tribeca area.
everything below 14th street has all kinds of treasures rich in beastie history.
59 Chrystie Street, 171 Avenue A, Ludlow & Rivington are all within a short 5 or 10 minute walk from each other... there's some murals in that neighborhood as well, 1st Ave and 7th street.
over along canal street in the tribeca area, you can find many of the video locations from tt5b and on, as well as the studio and some delis and restaurants that are referenced in many songs...
