Underrated track.
Hitting me right now.
Particularly Yauch's verse here:
Hug my Los
Brush her teeth
Read her books
Put her to sleep
Pack her lunch
Drop her at school
Head to the studio
Turn on the Pro-tools
Just talking about the day-to-day and appreciating it. Thanks Yauch.

Agreed.
Was this recorded after they released the album? or did it just not make the cut?

This is a b-side isn’t it? It’s on one of my Beastie singles. Can't think of which one!!!
Love this track so much! I like the way their walk you through their day. Always loved Yauch's verse about Los. (y)

It's on the check it out single so I would assume it just didn't make the cut since that was the first single from the album. This is one of the few tracks I actually get sad when I hear. Still a great song though.

This song does make me sad. So does "A year and a day" I get sad by certain lines mostly.
Miss you Yauch

I also like Mike's verse when he says, "apple C, apple V, drop the beat". for those not in the know, "apple-C" and "apple-V" are quick-key functions in ProTools for copying and pasting regions (respectively). so essentially he's alluding to looping up some beats.
and beats are dope. (y)

I didn’t even know what pro-tools were. Music education Beastie style!

VERY underated track. Always loved this track and its cool to hear people also think this is a sad song. I think the beat change at 1:55 going into Yauch's verse is the sad part but not really sad maybe just "feel". Super cool song.

The whole fucking era (TT5B) is underrated. I can appreciate why some people maybe felt a little underwhelmed, but I loved it then and I love it now. There's a review - maybe Rolling Stone or NME - which mentioned how everything was 'beautifully stripped down' and the b-side in question is a great example of that. I love how crisp and focused all that material is. Kind of a dry vibe going on too - I love the rhymes being pushed up to the front of the mix.

I agree I love that era, great clothes, back to hip hop it seemed fun.i think people didn't like it cos they have a lot of indie/rock fans and tt5b is more for the hip hop heads

Indie rock or hip hop, when it's good, it's good.
