Ok, so obviously I've got all the major albums and the Anthology; I've even got the remasters ( with the bonus cd's) So here's my conundrum: With the multitude of singles, maxi single cd's etc. out there, what are the absolute " must have" ones? I already have 'Sure Shot' 'Ch-Check it out' and 'Triple Trouble' are there any other "kick ass" remixes, b-sides etc. that I'm missing that aren't on the remaster bonus cd's? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I want to know more about Gratitude live single. What does mc boo's lyrics translate to? Also is it possible that the drum track is available?

Anyway this single is a must have but I assume everybody knows that. It's the track that comes on at the end of my work out so I work out longer.

I remember buying the Sureshot single and being disappointed with the version of Mullethead that was on it. I much preferred the version without vocals that was featured on the Sabotage home video. I still have yet to obtain that version.

-Rock Hard
-She's On It
-Love American Style (for the dub/instrumental Dust Brothers tracks)
-An Exciting Evening At Home with Shadrach (Again for the dub Dust Brothers tracks and the oddities are nice too)
-So Whatcha Want (for Skills to Pay the Bills, and Cypres Hill Remix)
-Pass the Mic (Drunken Praying Mantis Style, Netty's Girl, plus, this is just a cool listen in it's entirety)
-Jimmy James (The ORIGINAL version of Jimmy James, Boomin Granny)
-Get it Together (Resolution Time, Dope Little Song)
-Shure Shot (The Vibes, Mullethead)
-Right Right Now Now (Brr Stick Em)
-Check It Out (Euro single with "And Then I")

I don't know if you have the Root Down EP, but that has to be at the top of the list. In my opinion it's the closest thing to a live album. The free zone remix is probably one of my favorite remixes of all time.
Try and get it on vinyl if you can, the track layout is better.

Other honorable mentions:
The Alive singles - big shot, you+me together, start!, Bentley Rhythm Ace Remix (one of my favorite alive remixes)
Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win -All the remixes are great on this, especially the Sebastian mix and Z-trip's evil twin mix.

My personal favorite is the She's On It single. Not like its the best song or anything, I just love it. Total time capsule piece. I bought the vinyl on eBay in 9th grade and actually framed it in my apartment a few years ago.

'An exciting evening at home with Shadrach' is nearly impossible to find. I saw a copy on Amazon for $50 (Wow!)
Most of the tracks that have been listed are on the bonus discs of the remasters that came out in 2009, with the exception of a couple listed here and there. I definitely need to get the 'Get It Together' single for the ABA Remix.
Love American Style is definitely on the list as well.

Pass the Mic is a good one because there are a few little snippets on there you won't find anywhere else (Mike D's Hardcore version of the Big Mac commercial, that beak at the end with the cheezy DJ voiceover, there's a sketch on there about going to get high that I always wondered about). It's an EP more than a single.

If you like remixes also make sure to pick up the dvd video anthology. It's got a bunch of remixes on there, many aren't found anywhere else (like the Paul's Boutique remixes).

Speaking of rarities, did anyone else here make their own anthology in 1999? My favorite part of this article is " fans with internet access " .

The Video Anthology DVD set is definitely a great investment for the remixes and alternate angles alone, in fact I have two of them ( just in case ) The remixes that came on the Hotsaucecommittee part II are nice as well, the book was really cool with all the behind the scenes photos and list of cast of characters. I didn't catch all the Paul's Boutique references in the 'Fight for Your Right Revisited' video at first, the book was very helpful with that also. I'm sure as time goes by I'll collect more of the singles, starting with Tour Shot, Pass The Mic and Love American Style

If you can and if you have a turntable, buy the singles on wax. When I first started collecting the singles I was really eager to complete my collection and bought them all on CD (some you can only get on CD).

Now I am slowly collecting the singles in 12" format.
The cover art is larger, the sound is sometimes better and there is usually more songs. ie. the CD version of the 'get it together' single only has 'resolution time' as a bonus, while the 6" version only has 'dope little song' as bonus. The 12" version has both songs and some remixes too.

If I could start over again I would mainly focus on the records. If you're into collecting your collection will pay off in the long term.
