Figured some of yall would appreciate this, musicians with chops and a beastie influence.

I listened to this yesterday in the other post you previously made. And I just checked it out again.
I guess there are some Beasties influences in there. I hear more Animal Collective and groups of that ilk. Until the singing/rapping/loud annoying vox comes in.
I'm not feeling it. But, I guess I could see why some people would like it. Shrug.

eh, that sucks that you don't like it, i do respect your opinion on here, but i disagree. i think the vocals are on point, and definitely not simplistic but maybe not so easily digestible. i like music that challenges the listener, and that i can't fully comprehend on few casual listens. that is what makes the beasties so raw imo, when they started incorporating instrumentals, it weeded out a lot of the radio listeners and lame hit seekers.

Agreed. Not everyone digs my tunes, but I respect anyone trying to get out there and do something thats not the norm. I'd like to see these guys live. That's what usually changes my opinion on bands that I follow or support. The energy that comes from a great live performance is what moves me.

It's interesting music, but I hear less than a bee's dick of the Beastie Boys. Although it's fair that you can be influenced by an artist and sound nothing like them.

agreed, right on with that. it's actually tough to pin point their sound, but as far as versatile groups that blend genres, i can hear some beastie elements, but yea definitely not anything ripped off.
yea and a sick live show is everything i agree too. that's why the beasties are such innovators on a few levels imo.
